Question about ECS PN2-SLI2+ (V1.0) Motherboard

1 Answer

C1 led post code

Hello, I just bought the ECS PN2-SLI2+ Motherboard and when I boot the computer, nothing appears on my screen, just a beep every 5 seconds with the code C1 on the LED POST Codes. The fans are working, my DVD burner opens but that's it. I have no idea what to do and the manual doens't have any kind of troubleshoot.
Please Help.

I'm afraid that is not the problem. I tried putting only one RAM in the 0 slot, but same deal. According to the manual, the C1 is about "base memory detect"

Here is what I have for hardware if it can help:
    ECS PN2-SLI2+ Motherboard
    XFX 8800 Ultra GPU
    4x1Gb RAM Corsair DDR2 6400 C5
    ANTEC true power Quattro 850W
INTEL Core 2 Duo Quad Q6600
Western Digital Caviar Se16 500go SATA
    Samsung SATA LightScribe burner

Fact is, I love computers but this is the first time I am building one on my own.

ECS PN2 SLI2+ based system has been running fairly reliably for 2+ years and is not overclocked. Today, the machine almost finished loading (Win Vista 32), then rebooted and starting beeping with the C1 error code. I have swapped out the graphics card, removed one and then the other pair of memory modules and swapped the paired positions that one set had previously occupied. Occasionally the boot process gets a little further but never completes to the point of starting to load the OS from the boot drive. Mostly it starts beeping with the C1 error in the first couple of seconds.

Its a problem with you RAM..I guess you are using two rams of different frequencies...This leads to a mismatch and continuous beeping..If you have only one RAM make sure it is seated properly..
Report to what happened..

Your base memory or primary memory is nothing but the RAM..Try put the single RAM in a different slot..If this doen't work its a problem with your motherboard..since its new you will get an easy replacement..
    Good luck!

I think your harddrive is failing.
Try to borrow a harddrive from a friend, just to find out of the mainboard is failing.

The power supply, could have a fault, try to renew that.
But one of the ram modules, could also have a fault.
Try to boot with only one module.

Hello here is the homepage:

Here is a check guide:

Most problem is a faulty power supply, or a fault in ram or mainboard or the graphic card failing.
