I had the same problem and had to buy a new remote. Just Google Sanyo remote--it's the more expensive one with more buttons. Good luck.

SOURCE: have a sanyo 20" flat screen. i own the original

This isn't a problem with the remote - it is working just fine since you can go in the "menu" - it's the tv, it is locked. Since you weren't the one that locked it then it was caused by a malfunction of the control processor.
The only thing you can do is to reset the tv to factory condition: unplug the tv for 5 minutes, start it up , wait 30 second and then press twice the RESET button on the remote.
If that doesn't fix it then the processor has been damaged,. The tv is fixable (all you need to do is to replace the control processor, and the part is cheap - $25) but the labor necessary for that (over 3 hours of tedious soldering) will cost you more than a similar new tv.

Could be a few things.1.) Have you ran a firmware update lately? If so, I'd suggest reverting to factory settings.2.) If you haven't updated, it sounds like it's internal. Could be faulty hardware (4 years is quite awhile). Contact nintendo.

Hi, take out the dvd player from port 1 and try the Wii in port 2 or 3 if the picture is good on the wii then you will need to get a 1 way scart lead for the DVD, not a fully populated one as these can cause interference between video inputs.

Hope this helps

Connecting a wii system to a sanyo DP26648 tv

It has to do with the type of input - Video2 and 3 are Component video inputs, requiring a 3- wire component video cable (Red,blue, green for video, red/white below for audio). Video 1 is for analog equipment (Yellow for the video, red and white for the audio). Unless your Wii comes with a component video out cable and jacks (same red blue green), you'll have to use video 1 for the Wii, and use Video 2 for the dvd. You'll need a component video (3-wire) cable for your dvd, which should have the jacks for it. You can use the present cable you're using for the dvd, but you'll have to change the connections on the back of the dvd to component video out, and you'll still need another 2-wire cable to connect the audio out on the dvd to the audio in on Video 2 on the tv.

Here's the manual for your tv - look on page 8 for these connections. the Wii will be an analog connnection, the dvd will be a digital connection.

Wii video is black and white

Possibly you've plugged the video into the component (RGB) portion of the input - this calls for 3 connectors (Red, Blue, & Green) and if you only plug one in from a composite it comes out grayscale. If you only have one video lead (yellow connector) make sure it is going to a composite connection which should also be yellow. Otherwise, more info is needed about your connections.

Hook up the Wii

If you have the remote for the TV, it should have an input button on it that would change the video mode. If you have a universal remote, often the tv/vcr button will do that function on the newer model TVs.

Good Luck

Sanyo stuck on video mode

Yippie, I figured out a solution that worked!!! I have a univeral remote from comcast, on that remote near the bottom left is a small button that says (input) tv/vcr, press that one time and whala!! the tv video screen was gone, I had to manually change the channel from the tv channel button on the unit. once I changed the channel to 3, my universal remote worked... the button is the second one from the bottom left... I was on hold with sanyo for a long time and just kept trying on my own, so good luck!!!!

Maybe the Nintendo Wii overheated because you played with it for too much. Give it a rest and go back to it later.
