Question about Friedrich QuietMaster RS10J10 Air Conditioner

Circuit breaker on power cord does not reset

I have a Friedrick window a/c. The power cord has what looks like a circuit breaker on it with 2 buttons: Test and Reset. Reset does not seem to work. My a/c was on but the timer turned it off. I was not ready for it to be off so I adjusted to timer to allow it to remain on when the circuit breaker on the power cord popped. Any ideas? Thank you

Already checked the circuit breaker panel. Is there a fuse in the power cord circuit breaker that needs changing?

I believe it tripped because it was turned off then back on too quickly.

    Thank you

  • akb9 Jun 20, 2009

According to the manual it is a LCDI (leakage current detention interrupter). Is that the same as GFI? Does that have a fuse in it?

At any rate, the problem started when it was turned off then back on very quickly

  • akb9 Jun 20, 2009

No, the unit was unplugged but on the high cool setting when I hit the reset button. The unit is attached to a timer that was in the off position when I plugged it back in. When I tuned the timer back on it did not run. I will turn the unit to off and retry.

    Model #SL36L30A

    Thank you for your help.

Why did it trip? If you push test and it does not trip, check your circuit breaker in your panel

nope, that is a GFI plug, it is the current protection for your ac

  • seth veloso Jun 20, 2009

yes if the compressor shuts off then is turned back on right away, it will lock up, tripping any current protection. Let it rest for 10 minutes then try again

  • seth veloso Jun 20, 2009

same type deal. Is the unit in the off position while you are trying to reset it, does the plug have lights on it , are they on? If you give me the model number, I can find an electrical diagram and look to see if there are any fuses in the unit.

Wont work or come on

Debbie,
If nothing is coming on with no lights or anything you probably have a blown fuse. Unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

No power

Check the reset/off circuit breaker located on the
treadmill frame near the power cord. If the switch
protrudes as shown, the circuit breaker has
tripped. To reset the circuit breaker, wait for five
minutes and then press the switch back in.

Reset circuit Breakers for 2001 Pontiac Bonneville

The 30amp circuit breaker for the power windows is in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
But it resets itself if it blows. Thats why its a circuit breaker instead of a fuse.
From there the power goes to both front door control modules then to the door switches.

Need to reset circuit breaker

Hi,

  • 1 Turn off the light switches and unplug appliances in the room that has lost power.
  • 2 Find your circuit breaker box and open the cover.
  • 3 Locate the tripped breaker. Circuit breakers are small, usually horizontal switches labeled by the areas of the house they serve (for example, "kitchen," "bathroom" and so on). The tripped circuit breaker will be in the "off" position or in a middle position between "on" and "off."
  • 4 Reset the breaker by moving it to the full "off" position and then back to "on." That may clear an overload and return power to the room. If the breaker re-trips, you may have too many lamps and appliances plugged into the circuit; a damaged cord or plug; a short circuit in a receptacle, switch or fixture; or faulty wiring.
  • 5 Identify and correct the malfunction before resetting the breaker.

  • Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

    Sunroof will not work

Power is supplied to the Power windows and sunroof through the power window circuit breaker. That circuit breaker is supplied power through the RAP (retained accessory power) Relay, the RAP relay also supplies power to the radio. The RAP relay is also fuse protected by the RAP fuse in the under hood fuse block. The RAP relay is energized by the BCM body control module.

The RAP relay is responsible for the radio and windows working after the igntion is turned off.

The first place to check would be the RAP fuse in the under hood fuse block and then the RAP relay in the Body fuse block.

A list of the BODY relay block located on the left side of the dash to the right of the interior fuse block is below:

Plug in the power cord. Next, locate the reset/off circuit breaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Switch the circuit breaker to the reset

Microwave trips circuit breaker when plugged in repeats when breaker is reset . There is no problem with house electric.

The circuit is probably a 20Amp circuit (see the number stamped on the circuit breaker switch). Most likely, it is the same circuit as the refrigerator, crock pot, window A/C unit, etc....

Also, if you are using an extension cord or a power strip or a surge protector. Those may not have a high enough power rating.

One other possibility (not likely) is that the circuit breaker is a 15Amp and the microwave is 1500 watts.

What else is cut off when the circuit breaker is tripped?

Solution is to use a different outlet for the microwave, or turn off any other applicance in the same circuit (except the refrigerator, of course).

    Hope this helps!
