Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I had the light replaced and it went out 90 days later. I had it replaced again and within 6 months it is out again. I don't want to pay a technician to fix it again because by then I could have bought a new system. Is something else causing the light to go out?
If you are a good handyman you can do the following: (1) Go to a hardware store and buy a cheat DVM (digital voltmeter). Go to the other bulb and measure the voltage and write down on paper. Then CAREFULLY remove the bulb and place it where the other one burnt out twice. Measure the voltage the same way. If the two voltages are identical, then it was simply a coincidence, take the burnt bulb and go to the Electronic Parts Store and buy two bulbs (the reason for two is that the other one remaining will also go not before too long). If the voltage is ghigher than the previous reading, take it to the attention of the manufacturer. There is a design error by their engineers and they need to fix it. They most likely will send you a new unit and ask to return the old one, so they can evaluate it. Now when we are talking about volts, we talk about tenths of volts difference. This scheme will also work with LEDs, but the bulb with the lower voltage is the one at fault. CONSTANTIN
