Problem for Tomtom GO 700 GPS Receiver

Tomtom 710 won't charge but switches on sometimes

I personally think it is the connector pins that is the problem......as if I push it onto its cradle and tape it up it charges a little.....I am going to try and hard wire it and see if it makes a difference.
