SOURCE: Pierced hole in smeg freezer is it fixable

The only repair for this is to replace the evaporator, this requires serious technical skill in
refrigeration,

Usually this type of repair costs more than you will want to spend, it is not
covered by any warranty I know of.

Most techs will not want to attempt a repair of this nature due to the near impossibility
of getting all the moisture out of the system, and the very real likelihood of a service call back.

In future Only use hot water to assist in defrosting, or let defrost naturally before putting back into service. Never use any device to pry or poke at the ice.

My freezer frosted over everything because the door was not shut tight and now it will not clear.

take out all the food out of the freezer, unplug the fridge and get a hair dryer and start melting out all the ice in the freezer, then blow the hot air into the vent holes on the back wall until you don't see any more water dripping down through the slots in the back wall.turn the machine back on,open the fridge door after around 5 or 10 minutes and if you feel cold air blowing into the fridge you fixed the problem,if you don't feel cold air keep hitting the inside back wall with the hair dryer and keep blowing the hot air into the holes in the back wall.all that it does is the freezer gets cold and there's a fan behind the back wall in the freezer, the fan blows the cold air into the fridge side,if the air ducts are frozen the air can't circulate into the fridge section so you have to melt the ice out so the cold air can blow from the freezer to the fridge.good luck,if you have another fridge remove the food and unplug it and leave the doors open for a day and it will melt out.good luck

Several days ago i replaced my water filter - i do not know if this is a coinsidence but now i hear a buzz every once in awhile like something charging - also, the water dispenser is not working and just...

There are two electric water valves which might buzz (especially if dry). One for the ice cubes. One for the water dispenser.
Since both are incorrect, they are probably not the problem. You are not getting water pressure.
It might not be the filter. Time to get wet and test. Could easily be the valve which feeds the fridge. It is probably a self piercing valve which makes a very small hole to get the water from the larger pipe. Close it all the way down (re-pierce the hole) and open it again.

Bottom freezer is leaking water. Water seems to

You have a clogged defrost drain. The problem is fixed by unplugging unit from wall, open both doors, blow fan for 24 hours to SAFELY remove the ice covering the drain hole. If you use ANY other method, you may regret it. Once ice is melted, remove debris that is likely blocking the small drain hole, if no debris in drain pan, direct some high pressure air down the drain to block the debris INSIDE the tubing. Furthermore, its a good idea to make the drain hole in the drain pan larger, as sometimes a bubble of water can freeze in the drain hole, and ice could be the cause of your blockage from that bubble.

GE Energy Star French Door Bottom Freezer handle popped off

You cant find a hole to insert screw from outside. It is true, and you can't fix it yourself to what it looked like earlier. The company first screws in through the handle and then covers the hole made by it with the material of the handle. If you have to fix it yourself, you can only pierce those screws through the handle leaving the mark behind. If you don't want that, contact your company or dealer.

Hole in copper water pipe

Judging by how calm you sound it's likely a drainage or vent pipe and not a supply pipe which would be spraying all over the place the moment your drill pierced it. You'd have little choice but to cut the pipe and solder a coupling in there. If it's just a drainage or vent pipe you can buy an MJ (Mechanical Joint) coupling at Home Depot....these don't require fancy tools or torches to use.. The MJ coupling comes in two parts...a rubber part that joins two pipes and a stainless steel band with a couple of gear clamps....you just tighten the gear clamps and the compression does the rest.

Hissing freezer

Hi criago

I am very sorry to say that you have pierced the coolant tubing, the hiss you here is the coolant gas escaping. Your Fridge Freezer may be unrepairable because it is very hard to get into the area concerned.
Sorry to break the news to you.

Ice dispenser

The solenoid that controls the blades on the ice bucket is either froze up or defective. Remove the ice bucket and use a hair dryer on the back wall of the freezer where the bar on the ice bucket would go into the back wall. That plastic square in that hole should line up with the hole. Not be up inside the hole. Use the hair dryer on the back wall just above the hole with the plastic square inside it. The solenoid behind that wall is what controls the cubed and crushed ice. If that doesn't fix your problem replace the solenoid, Part Number 5304404333.

Let me Know how you Make out with your repair.

Thank you,
Bill
