My dishwasher won't empty
This condition is commonly caused by:
- Drain pump jammed
When you wash your clothes, any small objects (e.g. hair pins, coins etc) are flushed down the drain pipe but often get jammed in the drain pumps impellar (this is the tiny propeller on the pump).
Firstly, place a bucket on the floor....then lower your drain hose (from your tub) into the bucket - the gravity will naturally drain the water into the bucket. Be careful to raise the hose and empty the bucket each time, until the machine is empty. Remove any wet clothes from machine (you will need the bowl to be emptied).
Once empty, you can now check the drain pump.
Turn the machin off at the power.
Locate the drain pump cover (usually near the drain hose, on the back or side). Place a large towel on the floor beneath the pump cover (as remaining water will escape onto the floor). Unscrew the drain pump cover and allow the water to drain (if your pump cover contains a filter, then clean everything from this filter).
Then, look inside the drain pump cavity for anything obstructing the little propeller (remove any objects). Insert your finger inside the cavity and rotate the little propeller - you should feel a resistance, similar to a rubber band.
Re-install the drain pump cover (or filter) and ensure it is sealed properly. Turn ON at the wall.
Fill your bucket with water (from tub) and pour into your machine.
Turn machine ON, and select the last SPIN (or drain) cycle and check if machine now drains correctly. If ok, then problem now solved and you can put the clothes back into the machine for a final rinse/spin.
If machine still not draining after inspecting the drain pump, then you may have a suspected faulty drain pump - a technician can run a diagnostic process on your machine's control pad to find the diagnostic codes.
Please do let me know, if the above process helps you solve this.
