The problem is likely varnish buildup in the carb. Add PAINT THINNER ( yes, I meant to say that !) to the gas. Use 1.5 ounces each of Xylol ( Xylel) and Acetone per 10 gallons of gas ( 5 gal. can will use 3/4 ounce each ).Drain gas tank and carb float bowl. Add fresh gas mixed with thinners. Remove air cleaner element and use quick starting fluid with upper cylinder lubricant to start mower, and keep it running with SHORT bursts of starting fluid until it will run on its own. You may also need to replace or clean air filter if it is old or dirty. continue procedure for 5 minutes or so. Remember to run Sta-bil fuel stabilizer through the system before you shut down for the season, as this will prevent the varnish build up.
I've been using thinner in all of my engines ( gas, pre mix, and diesel ) for a few years with no bad side effects. I've ridden over 15,000 miles on my motorcycle - getting better mileage and power, and not having to buy premium gas either.
Hope this helps!!
Ensure fresh gas is in tank. Follow gas line from tank to carb. Have locking pliers ready to pinch off gas line or close gas line valve. Remove gas line from carb. observe gas flow to carb. Remove carb bowl from bottom of carb. Attach gas line to carb. Does gas flow to carb. Observe float, float down gas flows, float up no gas flow. If float is bad replace float assembly or carb. Remove float mounting pin and needle metering valve. Use a bread wrapper pealed back an inch so thin wire can clean out port of meter needle. Use wire to clean out center port. Observe bowl screw look for hole thru screw, clean out with wire if preset. Re-assemble carb. Clean replace air filter. Fill oil. 30w. Prime motor, pull rope 10 times to start. No start, replace carb.
I believe that ToroGuarantees to start 1 Pull, was gas left in it all winter?, If so this is'nt covered under warranty, cause gas is to be ran out or dumped out at end of season this will prevent any gumming up of carb . did you completelydisassemblecarb? does it have a primer on it, those gskts need replacing, clean out the jet in bottum of float bowl, small holes, sometimes missed and remove and check your needle/seat to make sure that when float drops gas runs out then lift float up and gas should stop. hope this helped you, another thing spray carb cleaner in carb and pull over and see if it will start that way enough to keep running with choke to see if it will **** gas into it
g and wire aSounds like a dirty carb. Drop the bowl ,after shutting off gas, and and with about a2 foot piece of hose, blow up the center tube on the carb.Replace the bowl. Remove the plug and pour about a table spoon of gas in plug hole. Replace plug and plug wire. Try to start it.
its got a dirty carb jet/s strip down fule lines and card give a good clean up to fule filter in tank on pickup pipe and clean carb jets anf any other fule parts
aways run it out of fule if your going to lay it up,,,
if you can see the carburetor, there is a small bowl that has a nut on the bottom side of it, remove this nut after stopping the fuel supply, inspect the nut and about half way up there will be a very tiny hole that you must clean out or unstop, this allows fuel to get to the main vent tube, and you can use a bread tie with the plastic removed; to unplug this hole or (jet). you may have to remove the air cleaner to see the float bowl. the nut is ususlly a 1/2 inch nut or 13MM. you can see a breakdown picture or diagram if you type in small engine, a carburetor repair and browse the pages a lot oftime i agree bit better than paying someone to unplug this hole for mechanics prices.
Your carburetor needs cleaned, you had gas in it that you drained out and replaced with new ? What engine do you have tecumseh, briggs,? Anyway remove carburetor and take apart get acan of carburetor cleaner and spray though jets in carburetor and blow out jets be carefull not to blow out needle seat !
