Question about Sony STR-DB940 Receiver
When we watch a movie and the sound goes up, we loose sound and the tuner flashes protector on the front panel; we put a music cd in the dvd player and turn the sound up above what the movie was playing at and we never loose sound. With the movies, it may shut off 5-10 times per movie which is very irritating.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You may have an output transistor gone bad and it is trying to run on one good transistor since they commonly are used in pairs (one positive and one negative). Time for a trip to the shop. Good luck.

just open the player (4-6 screws) and clean the lens. I had a similar problem (plays VCD, CD but no DVD - tray will open immediately). It worked afterwards

SOURCE: playstation3 not working
Please post any solution that you may hear of. I have spoken to Sony and searched many forums and have come up with nothing. Except that one guy claimed he had this problem and when he installed linux his machine was able to use the drive thru linux.

This message indicates that a problem was detected in the amp. In order to prevent any further damage to the amp or the speakers, the outputs are turned off. Does the receiver show this at all times now?
