Ok, the part number is below but, i would advise to check the Magnetron thermal cut-off(Magnetron thermal fuse). This fuse could have blown.

My GE model JVM1631WB002 is giving off a burning smell. What can I do?

A burning smell is usually a sign of a bad magnetron tube, the microwave source. As they age they take more power, and this causes excess heating that can cause the smell. Eventually the tube burns out and you get no heating. If you've been noticing longer than normal cooking times, it's due to the weak tube.

You can replace a magnetron, but it's a costly part (around $100-$125) and the repair should be done by a professional because of safety concerns. (Several websites describe how to replace a magnetron if you'd like to try it yourself, but you need to be very careful. MICROWAVES USE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES WHICH CAN KILL YOU.) Between the part and labor costs, when the magnetron goes bad it's often more economical to spend a little more and replace the oven.

There are some other parts that can get hot and sometimes smell, but the magnetron is most common. If you want to keep the oven, I'd suggest letting a professional check it over and give you an estimated for the repair. Then you can decide what you want to do.

No heat in microwave. Makes loud humming sound when turn on. Model GE Spacemaker JVM166OWBC 04

The humming can be caused by a couple of bad parts. Usually it's the magnetron tube, the microwave source. They often fail by shorting out, and the loud hum from the power supply is what you hear. Another part called the HV diode may also have shorted, but the magnetron is more common.

A bad magnetron can be replaced, but it's a costly part. And microwave service should be left to a professional, because there are dangerous voltages under the cover and a chance of microwave leakage if repairs aren't done correctly. Between the part and labor costs, it might be more economical to replace the oven. Let a qualified servicer give you a repair estimate and then decide.

Runs normal but no longer heats anything. model # JVM1451BA 001 serial # RT9227675

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

I ran the microwave with nothing in the oven (obviously by mistake). Now it won't heat the food. Timer, clock, etc works. Is there a simple part that I can replace to solve this problem or have I killed...

You can replace the magnetron tube and , the heating will be restored. this is repairable.

Most magnetron tubes will run in the 120 to 140 dollar range.

Microwave won't heat anything

Yeah, it's time to invest in a new oven. The magnetron tube in yours most likely just finally wore out. It's the source of the microwaves, and like any tube it gets weaker with age and finally just quits altogether. It would cost more for a new magnetron than it would for a new oven these days.

Please Help my GE Microwave produces no heat!!

Most of the time it seems to be the magnetron. The Magnetron is what heats the food, when you remove the magnetron sometimes you will see signs of wear like a black or brown spot on the tube sometimes there is even a hole burned through. A cheap place to find these part is Global Micro Parts in Dallas TX. Usually Magnetrons are about $30 - $45 and shipping is only 7.95 there web site is www.allapplianceparts.com

Microwave does not heat

It looks like the magnetron failed on your microwave.
This something that you may be able to do it yourself, just need to keep some good safety measures when it comes to the high voltage capacitor.
This may be the magnetron for your appliance: http://cgi.ebay.com/OM75P-GE-Samsung-Microwave-Magnetron-Tube-WB27X10017_W0QQitemZ170195128083QQihZ007QQcategoryZ150140QQcmdZViewItem

Good Luck.
