What could the possible solution be?

Use the USB cord or get a card reader to download the images. You will have to install the software that comes with the camera otherwise the computer will not recognize your camera,

SOURCE: How do I get the photos off my camera to my computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

SOURCE: How to unlock card in pentax optio Says Card

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards

My Pentax Optio M90's Flash has stopped working.. it doesn't matter if I have selected the flash to be on or off it still won't work. Even when setting are set at auto it still won't work...

Hi kerritm,

This indicated that it's time you need to replace your flash , therefore you can get it done via a service center,

The camera's flash has a certain life and you can't expect it to be ok for many years together ,

In unfortunate cases , it stops working due to hard ware failure.

Therefore , Please get the flash replaced and you would be able to use it.

Hope this helps..:)

After i turn on my Optio E10, it shuts off right away even after i put in new batteries.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Try using A 512mb San Disk SD Card. Not a San Disk SDHC card. see if that doesn;t help you out. Good-Luck

Why every time I take a picute on my pentax p70 appears on the screen: data being processed and tkaes about 5 to 10 seconds to get ready to the next one? What shall I do to stop it?

The camera does some digital noise reduction, to reduce the 'grain' effect when light is low. To avoid the delay (and seeing that message) take photos with more light - e.g. turn on the flash. This is a known annoyance with this camera - it would have been better to offer the option to turn this feature off, and de-noise the picture later on a computer; but it doesn't.

Pentax Optio S - lens cover rings popped off

I'd be most happy to share with you how I solved my problem with the Pentax Optio S. It took a bit of clever 'problem-solving' thought and inspection. After suddying the design of each piece and the working components of the exposed lens area, I was able to identify which sections worked together appropriately.
And, I think it appropriate at this time that I ask you to purchase one of my plans in order to receive the full benefit of what I learned from my skillful thinking and examination, and thereby successfully repaired my camera.
I look forward to hearing from you.

My Flash stopped working, but I don't understand the manual instructions.

To ensure the flash is functioning study the manual and check the LCD menu to such a feature as a flash on/off control.
