Question about Samsung HT-TX72 Theater System
It does flash the "protection" message right before it powers down. From what I have read this is caused by a heat problem, so I totally removed the top case to reduce any heat build-up inside the cabinet but it did not make a difference. I have read about this problem before and was inquiring if you guys have heard about it and what the solution is?
I have the same system and the same problem. I took it apart and the components by the fan were extremely hot and the little red componets actually burn the protective cover off of two of them. I unscrewed the cooling fan and reversed it so it would blow the hot air out instead of sucking in air and it works like a charm now problem solve.

Protection means that there is something wrong with the fan of your unit
it is a feature which avoids the unit from over heating
check if there is anything blocking the fan from moving/rotating
