I just bought the Sims 3, and it won't work correctly on my "gaming" (according to the salesperson) computer. If I'm looking correctly, I think my graphics card is 12MB short of what the game requires. Is there a way for me to just clean up some things on my computer and gain back that 12MB of memory?

You can always to going into Msconfig and disable any programs that arn't need to run in the background and you can go here to see if your pc can play the game

Try stopping some processes that you know you don't need or you may have too many processes starting when you start your computer. I try to have no more than Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware at startup. If you need other programs just start them as you need them.

What kind of mother board do you have? If you have integrated graphics on your motherboard, it might not be possible to add a graphics card without some changes to the motherboard. I'd consult the instruction manual for your motherboard.
