Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have a hp psc 2175 all-in-one printer that suddenlyhad the copy scan photocard lights start flashing and the message remove and check cartridge in the printer window.
Things I have tried---at least 3 times
1. I did ck.the cartridges many times and even put new ones in
2. Unpluged the printed from the wall and from the computer to try to reset it
3. re-booted my computer
As I mentioned I have done these things many times
4. unplugged printer --- held down cancel and left arrow button, replugged it while still holding buttons--read this would send a message back that it would reset printer, but this did nothing.
I (like eveyone else) am desperate to get it going
I have wireless networking---won't print from either computer
right now the printer icon shows an error and that it is sharing
The computer and the printer are communicating , in so far as when i give a command to print something it does go to the queue, but from there it will not print
I would really appreciate any help I can get

Firstly most printers need to be told when you have re installed cartridges as they think they are still there from the fault. Go to your printer and faxes menu and select your printer and delete any pending print jobs. Next go to add/remove programmes and delete the printer software driver and disconnect printer from both pc and the mains for about minutes. Re install driver and reconnect printer to pc when prompted by driver or when it is fully installed, prefferably in a different usb port than previous and go through the set up as normall. if the same problem occurs, the printer must be faulty and require a repair or replacement.

Hi My first quesiton to you would be: What version of windows are you using. If you are using Windows Vista you will need to go to the HP Site and download the new updated drivers for the new OS. Second Question : Are you using genuine HP printer catriges? If so make sure the contact point where the catrigr and the printer meet are clean and free of dust. Try re seating the cartriges and re calibrating th printer. I checked with HP online tech support and they backed me on this. Switch off the machine. depress all three buttons with the button depressed switch on the machine and hold the button in for a few seconds. Did the problem go away? No? try www.fixyourownprinter.com

Meanwhile I am on the crossroad.
If I buy a new cartridge I will have bunch of cartridges with now warranty that the printer is going to print again. ¨Hopefully there are some more types of printer suitable for the cartrigese (56,58 Anyway thanks for the time and efford to the wise woman

SOURCE: error code 6502 on MP510
Canon help desk told to unplug the printer for at least 15 minutes. The electronics will reset. If the error persists after turning the printer back on you're screwed and have to send it to Canon, because some electronic component is broken.
