Question about Toshiba TZ50V51 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I have a toshiba tz50v51 projection tv. the red power light is on

But I get no picture or sound when I hit the power buttom. I think this may be from a power surge or lightning strike. I opened the panel and the fuses I can see are still good.

Thanks,
Dave

    Thanks

It could either be due to the convergence Circuits ( If the Power Indicator Blinks) or the power deflection board if it doesnt blink. I have a source for parts if you would like the link.

the start up or standby power is in need of troubleshooting. I would start by checking the regulator and horizontal output transistors.

Need to test F470 and F850 for open.. Simple continuity to see if either fuse is open.. If F 470 is open replace it and C884 and if F850 is open you probably you may need to replace the two convergence amps STK392-110... Large black Ic's screwed on an aluminum heat sink...
