I have an Olevia 226T-11 HDTV which frequently doesn't complete the boot-up process and freezes with a white screen. I've downloaded the firmware update, however, as the TV freezes I can't determine if the update has loaded

Re: Olevia 226T-11 HDTV white screen
You might want to try leaving the television unplug over night and see if anything changes.. if the television is still acting the same , then the tv will have to be service... most likely it sounds like a main-board might have to be replace or could be the video driver on the television.
I know this 3rd party repair company called Amergence Technology has taken over the repair services.. you should call them so then you could get an idea on the repair cost.. there number is 866-965-3842

Check to make suer you ae not on progressive scan as that will display the images in a black and white format. Also check your system settings and make sure they are correct, NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc. i hope this helps. Good Luck.
the only thing is to keep trying it but you might want to leave the television off over night and then try it the next day.. also try doing the firmware on a 1G or less thumb drive...if the television is still not grabbing the firmware then it sounds like the television will need to get service... this means the television's main-board will need to be flashed.
Since the Manuf. of Olevia is out of buss the only company at this time that has the tool and parts to repair the television will be the 3rd party repair center called Amergence Technology ( 866-965-3842)
you could try ant. on the tuner of the television and try to see if it grabs any channels on AIR ..if the scan goes all the way without finding any channels then the tuner of the television is not working. This means the mainboard will have to be exchange or repair..
This company called Amergence Technology is a 3rd party repair center and is able to offer repair services.. they could give you an idea on the repair cost and the process they have in place..
