Question about Elna 2007 Mechanical Sewing Machine
I have an ELNA CLUB 500 from 1994. My light bulb went out and I need to replace it. I read the manual, which tells me to "lower socket and pull out the lamp". But when I do, the light bulb is covered by a rectangular metal case and I cannot get at the light bulb to remove it, and replace it. How can I remove the metal housing? HELP PLEASE!

Switch power off first. On the top left hand side of the machine towards the front is a small hole. Insert small screwdriver in hole and push down. The light bulb will appear underneath just to the left of the presser foot. Whilst holding down the screwdriver firmly, turn bulb anti-clockwise pushing slightly upwards at the same time. Bulb should dislodge.

SOURCE: I have an Elna 6003Q
some call it a lamp cover door or face plate it's on the left side of the sewing machine
some sewing machines have a hinge at the back of the face plate, you can gently pull it open to change the bulb
some machines -in the middle of the face plate there is a plastic plug, use a screw driver to gently lift the plug & then unscrew the screw & change the bulb.put the face plate back on put the srew back in & put the plug back in to concile the screw

I have been dealing with the exact same problem for 2 hours and no answers!! I have just discovered that if you move the stitch width finger to R instead of N, your threader will work!! Hope this helps :)
