I have installed my HP J6450 on 3 computers (1 vista and 2 XP). For two of the computers when I ask it to print one copy of a document it prints 3. On the third computer, XP, it works fine, one copy. Any buddy have this problem that found a solution. I have tried an uninstall/reinstall multiple times but no fix. Very frustrating.
After spending a lot of time on the net looking for an answer I decided to spend some time to see what was different betweent the computers. It turns out that the 2 computers that I was having the problem on had Zone Alarm installed and the 3rd computer that it was working on did not. So I dug around in Zone Alarm and marked every HP software item as allowed. I then rebooted the computer and submitted a test page to the printer. Low and behold 1 copy as I wanted. I proceeded to test it some more and now am only getting one copy when I ask for one. The problem appears to be that Zone Alarm was messing it up. I still have Zone Alarm running, I just needed to mark HP as an accepted program under every listing in Zone Alarm.

1. uninstall the print driver THEN 2. download the latest version from the manufacturer and install it
This rules out the driver as the cause of the problem 1. Go to printers 2. Right Click on the Printer HP Laserjet 1320 3. Click on Printing Preferences 4. Click on Advanced 5. Double Click (to open) on Paper Output 6. Ensure that COPY COUNT is set to "1"
If it is already set to one, trick the system a little: 1. set it to 2 and save that setting 2. then go back in and set it to 1
its most prob a driver problem, thats the trouble with vista if you have installed the cd driver disk that came with it,
its most prob only for xp it will run on vista but not all features will work go to hp web page click on the drivers and software location, then put in model number of printer then next it will give you diff. windows drivers and pick the vista one that with your pc/laptop but please un-install the software you are using first the shut down and restart..
then install the new drivers etc this should sort out your problem.
if still having problems please get back to me .. matdav69
Go to "printers and faxes." Right click on your printer and select "Printing preferences." Select "Advanced" tab Double click "paper output" If "Copy count=2" then change to 1 and apply IF IT ALREADY IS SET TO 1 THEN: Set "copy count=2" then APPLY Repeat the above and now set "copy count=1"
The process of setting and resetting the copy count fixed my issues.
This problem is caused by Mopier Mode being enabled by default. The idea of Mopier Mode is to minimise computer and network traffic by sending only 1 copy to a printer equiped with suitable internal memory. That stored copy is then used to produce the multiple copies. Most HP Laserjets do not have suitable internal memory and so only the one copy sent by the computer gets printed. To disable Mopier Mode:
Click Devices and Printers
Right click your Laserjet Printer
Select Printer Properties
Click the Device Settings Tab
Scroll down to the bottom
If necessary, expand Installable Options
Click on Mopier Mode
Select Disable in the selection box that appears
You will now get multiple copies.
Windows may have eaten its baby again- that is, the driver for that printer.
Open the Control Panel, then Printers and Faxes, delete any listing for that model of printer, make sure the printer is on and connected, then reboot your system.
This will force Win to 'find' the printer and install an uncorrupted driver for it.
