Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
GE Profile Series - Side by Side Refrigerator: water will not dispense, but water line is clear (used a monofilament snake) and dispenses as far as the disconnect behind lower grill left
frozen line near the dispenser outlet?
I had this problem with my GE side by side and yes they are known to freeze up. I had to routinely open the door and run a blow dryer on the back of the door to get it flowing again. However, last year, the freezer stopped keeping things frozen, so I pulled off the inside back cover and the coils were encased in frost. I found out that it was probably due to a bad thermistor (small white bulb with 2 wires at the top of the evaporator). I replaced it and the freezer works great. I also noticed that the water in the door doesn't freeze up anymore. I'm guessing the thermistor was going bad and the temperature wasn't being regulated very well. Cheap fix too (around $10 plus shipping)
