water is getting beyond the reservoir, so that is not the location of freezing, if freezing is the problem.

I had this problem with my GE side by side and yes they are known to freeze up. I had to routinely open the door and run a blow dryer on the back of the door to get it flowing again. However, last year, the freezer stopped keeping things frozen, so I pulled off the inside back cover and the coils were encased in frost. I found out that it was probably due to a bad thermistor (small white bulb with 2 wires at the top of the evaporator). I replaced it and the freezer works great. I also noticed that the water in the door doesn't freeze up anymore. I'm guessing the thermistor was going bad and the temperature wasn't being regulated very well. Cheap fix too (around $10 plus shipping)

Tubing/resevoir is coiled behind the crispers and can freeze.

I misread. Are you saying if you disconnect the line into the filter the water will dispense with the lever on the door? That sounds like a plugged filter. Where is your filter located on this model. I am more familiar with Whirlpools but they all work the same.

No dispensing water...GE refrigerator

There may be an interlock switch on the housing where the filter or dummy stopper is inserted. If this interlock is not satisfied, then the water dispenser won't turn on. This would prevent water from spraying all over the inside of the refrigerator if the filter is not seated properly. Check to make sure the filter or plug is inserted properly.

GE Profile Icemaker freezing up; water freezes down inside wall of freezer; icemaker making ice, very slowly, but will not dispense. Water is still dispensing

This sounds like your water valve is not completely closing allowing water to drip and freeze. First check to make sure that the water tube going into the cup of the ice maker is lined up correctly and not causing this problem - if it is lined up correctly then replace the water valve on the back of the refrigerator that your main line is connected to.

Ge profile side by side is not dispensing water, have removed the line at door and there is not water coming out. What do I do next.

At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate , 1 screw on each side ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .
If the door line is frozen , GE has a dispensor heater , pt # WR49X10173 , to help eliminate the freezing of the line .

Water dispenser quit dispensing but the ice maker still makes ice

Chances are that one of the 2 valves in the assembly is bad. It is on the refrig in back, where the water supply line connects. remove the connector to the water dispenser valve (the other is for the icemaker) and connect a jumper power cord to it and then to the wall outlet, momentarily. If water comes out the dispenser, then the valve is good but the switch on the door is bad. If the valve does not hum, the valve is bad.
I have seen the water dispenser lines freeze in the back of the refrigerator, near the water cooling tank or coils, preventing dispensing of water.

Water dispenser is slow

Change out the filter. If it still happens then you have a blockage in the line. Disconnect the line and flush out.

The same thing happened to me. If you pull the refrigerator out and remove the large silver panel, you will see the water lines on the left. The line going to the ice maker was fine, but the line going to the water dispenser was split. You may have the same issue.
