Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

1 Answer

I load songs on my iPod A1136, they play, then most of them disappear, I know the battery needs changed, is that going to fix the problem or is the internal drive bad. I have had it since it first came out with no additional problems.

The battery DOES NOT have to do anything with files. I guess there IS something wrong in the internal of the device. You can change the battery, but it will have no effect. The best thing you can do, is check your settings, check the FORMAT of the songs 'cuz some devices play songs and disappear due to unsupported format (almost like your case) and go have it a look. good luck and hope this helped!

You need a USB cable that is made for the ipod. It can be purchased on e-bay. Thay plugs into the bottom of the ipod, and into a 2.0 usb port on your computer. Afere it is connecter, you computer and i-Tunes will take over for you, just follow the instructions. If you dont have itunes installed, go to www.apple/support.com and download

I need to know i can clear/erase songs on my 2005 30gig ipod model a1136

on the ipods the most common way to delete songs off of it is thru the itunes software, connect your ipod and itunes should open up and if not make sure you have itunes installed and running you can get the latest itunes for free from apple.com or just google itunes, once you have itunes runing your ipod should appear in the sidebar click on it and then click on the songs list under it, then select the songs you want to delete and hit delete

Songs are playing, but no sound.

You might have to replace the logic board if you mean sound isn't coming from the dock you connected to. If sound doesn't come out of your headphones/jack, you need to replace the headphone jack, which is easier than to replace the logic board, if your going to do it yourself.

The website I linked to also offers repair services to do the replacing for you.

You Itunes purchases have to be restored to the hard drive as well. Otherwise you will have to repurchase them. Itunes doesn't allow you to copy your purchased songs from your Ipod into the library on your hard drive. You can play them from Ipod as long as you enter you Itunes account information. Make sure your Ipod is set to manually manage music or you will wipe out the songs.

I ran into the same problem about a month back. I tried everything to fix it. I finally brought it into the Apple Store and they said something inside the iPod was fried and they didnt have the tools to open it up and fix it righ there. They guy just gave me a new one for $32 (a battery recycle fee) I didnt have a warrenty but it was less then a year old. MY suggestion is to bring it in and see if they can fix it but more then likely your going to need a reapair.
