It should be either on the nameplate or junction box cover.

What's the source of the info that the two orange wires are Low & High?

Orange is an unusual color, but I'd say, with 99.999% certainty, that if you put a voltmeter across the two orange wires, it'll read 220 volts (nominal).

The two orange and one white lead give you the ability to run @ 110 volts -- there will be 110 volts between one orange and white and also the other orange and white.

For this motor you only need the two orange wires which will give you 220 volts between the two. Cap off the neutral/white wire (not needed) & connect the two orange wires, one to L1 and one to L2 on the motor (L = Line). And don't forget to connect the ground...

Charlie

P.S. You should also have a GFCI on this circuit.

How to conect a 230v cooler motor

The wiring diagram should be on the junction box cover. You can go on line and download the manual with this information. There are a lot of A.O. Smith motors out there.

I need to know which wire going where

All motors have an electrical diagram on the side of the unit. This easily explains where to place wiring. Since we did not install your electrical wires, we have no idea what your color code system is. Just have to use the diagram

Low/High Switch wiring for Hayward Superpump

I do not read anywhere that you have a 230V DPDT switch which you will need in order to select the high or low speed. You will have 6 terminalas on the switch. Line connections usually go to the middle set. Put put sides of one pole to the common terminal and put one of the other posts to the hi and the other to the low terminal. I prefer to use am on-off-on switch so the switch in the middle turns off the pump. Flip it one way for hi and the other for low. If you post your stock number from the two-speed motor I could give you a more accurate diagram if you need it. Generally, 1 is common, 2 hi and 3/4 low.

Wiring diagram for flo-master 56 frame xp2. I have a new pump that was improperly wired from the factory. It is a two speed pump only running one speed. If I knew where the factory wiring should be...

The side of the motor will have a wiring diagram for how to connect the common, low and high speed leads. Your wire harness should have a white (common), black (usually low), red (usually high) and green (ground) wire. If high and low are backwards, switch the black and red leads.

MasterCool 2 took a dive

Did you look at the unit. Maybe the belt broke or came off. Do you have voltage to motor. Need to follow the power to know where the problem is. Verify the breakers is good and there is power to the swamp cooler.

A frozen motor would not stop the pump from working. But the motor could have blown the breaker. Start by checking to make sure the power is good to the unit.

Wiring difficulties during hookup

The side of the motor will have a diagram showing how to connect the wires for common high and low speeds. There should also be a voltage selector device on near the terminals you connect your line wires to. Set that device to the 115 setting and you should be all set.
