Sandisk Memory Card

I recently bought a Sandisk memory card in Japan (which works perfectly in my camera) My laptop was bought in Britain - o/s Vista
When I link the Sandisk to my laptop it is not registered on any of the drives/files.
However, when I hook up an old Sandisk memory stick I bought in the UK it works without a hitch.
Please help - I have 500 Japan holiday pics on there!

Re: Sandisk Memory Card

I have never heard of any differences in OS's based on language versions, but if all else fails, I would do a link up of data cable between camera and the computer. Hope this helps...

I have a Sandisk 2GB memory card and my inspiron laptop will not read it and when i enter into my camera it says there is a problem with the card please check the card ! I have many pictures saved on this...

Have you formatted the card recently?
Sometimes file can become corrupt and won't allow the card to work.
If you can format it when inside the camera, try that. Just remember that you'll lose all your photos on the card.

Sandisk 4gb memory card not working

it would be easier if you contact the shop you purchased the Scandisk from and get it mailed back to the shop. They would ship via mail a replacement to you. If not take it to another Sony center in your area and show you receipt for purchase. They should fix this for you.

Pictures stored on card, and unable to retreive them on camera

Have you tried accessing the pictures via a card reader connected to your PC. It is possible the card is damaged and you will not be able to recover your pics. But it is worth a try. If you do not have a card reader take the card to a camera shop and see if they can see and manipulate the pics to another card, then reformat the card and reinsert it to see if it then reads anmd writes.

Formattin sandisk

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from or
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
