Go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and download the drivers for that motherboard model number onto a flash/thumb drive with another computer then plug in the flash/thumb drive to the computer that is missing the drivers and install the drivers from it. The motherboard model number will be listed on the motherboard itself. Its usually the largest font printed on the motherboard, is normally located just below but above or between the PCI/PCI express slot, or just to the right of the heatsink/fan combo near the RAM.

I am guessing that you just installed/reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7? If this is not the case then try doing a system restore back to a day or two before the last time you remember having a working, wired internet connection.

Some one installed windows xp on my home computer but dint install the drivers needed to get on the enternet like the ethernet driver and the sm bus controll driver and a few others. how do i get them?

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer.
Enter your exact model number into the search bar and you should be given the option for drivers.
Select the Operation System, in this case Windows XP
Download the proper drivers you need.

If you would like, reply with the model number of your computer and I'll give you a link to the downloads page.

I need the driver for the vga card and ethernet controller

With the computer off and the ac line cord unplugged take the cards out and obtain the model number of each card and then go to the manufacturers website and get the latest driver for your operating system.if you cant get online with your pc you will have to download the drivers from another pc and then put them on a flash drive or cd and then insert the flash drive via a usb port or if you have a cd insert it into the cd drive.either way you do it you will have to execute the file you downloaded and let the self installer do the rest and restart the computer if told to.if the drivers installed correctly you should be able to go to the device manager located in the control panel under the system-hardware tabs. You should have no yellow question marks on any of the devices in the list of devices.if you do then double check to make sure you downloaded the right driver. Some devices have different versions so pay attention to any model numbers followed by a ver.# especially ethernet cards. The vga card is either a ati or nvidia.hope this helps and good luck.

My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6000. I cannot connect to the net and viewing my device drive shows that I problems with some driver including my network controller, Ethernet controller and modem device on...

Even though the laptop says DV6000, they always have a more specific model number on the bottom sticker.

The best way to do this is grab a flash drive and go to another computer. Open the internet and go to then click on support and drivers. Type in your model number, then operating system and download the drivers needed to your flash drive. Then bring the flash to the pavilion and load drivers from there.
