Re: when I turn the camera o a red stripe with white
Some cards have a lock tab on them. Make sure it is not in the lock position. If no go then take the card to a photo place and see if they can read it and download your photos. If that does not work then you can reformat the card (you will lose your photos). If you still are experiencing problems, try another card. If that does not work then it's off to the warranty repair or time to get a new camera. Repairs on these are only worth it if they are free or really cheap.

Okay "normally" when the memory card is installed the camera reverts back to the memory card from the internal memory. Two things might be happening here one the internal memory needs to be downloaded to the memory card then saved to the computer and the internal memory card formatted. then the memory card formatted to clear those pictures. And or there is a setting switch in menu or set up that you need to manually switch from internal memory to memory card.
I know when I read this over it made scents so you might need to read it a few times to get the idea of what I'm telling you needs to be done
Remove the memory card from the camera, look along the one edge and you will see a tiny switch, slide it towards the contacts to unlock the card. The switch that is in the furthest position from the contacts is in the locked position to prevent the pictures from being erased, now! if you find the card is already unlocked slide it back and forth to reset. If that fails the memory card will need to be replaced.
Hi, There is only one type of card that I know of that has a locking feature. That is an
SD memory card. It has a little white slider on the outside of it. In small letters it says "LOCK" . Push the slider
in the opposite direction of the arrow i.e. to unlock it. If this is the case, then the camera should be able to communicate and write to the card. There
is the possibility that the device in the camera which detects
this slider is damaged. In that case the camera should be repaired.
There is an additional problem that can occur. That is the card can be corrupted.

Turn your camera off. Open the memory card access door and remove the memory card. If it is like the SD and XD cards or IS one of those, check along one edge of the card and there should be a tiny (usually white in color) slide switch. Make sure that this switch is in the "unlocked" position and replace it back into the camera and try it. Sometimes the switch moves as you take it in and out. Off brand cards have loose switches that can move just by handling the camera. I had to jam one of mine into the unlocked position with a tiny piece of thick paper stuck into the switch slot. Be careful when putting the card back into the camera that you don't catch the switch on the camera slot and move it back into locked mode. If this has helped, please rate it accordingly. Thanks and good luck.
