I cant get the camera to go into forced flash

I have tried everything. I cant get it to force flash. Someone said to toggle the box on the screen. What the hell is toggle, and how the hell do you do it? Also, my son did something to the camera it is not taking high quality pictures anymore. How do i just return the camera to the way it was when i took it out of the box. It was perfect then!

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Good luck!

Flash not working

Can be for severe; reasons.
1. There is enough light.
2. You can force the flash, with the mode switch to Flash forced on, Slow synchro and Flash forced off. Try flash forced on.
3. The battery is not fully charged. When there is not enough power in the battery, the flash can't be charged enough to fire. But if the camera tries to charge the flash, a symbol with a lightening arrow and a dot is displayed. So if you see these symbols, could be you need better batteries. Try charging the battery.
4. the flash is really defect. Could happen too, but first check if everything from 1 to 3 is as it should be. only than you have to visit the repair shop or Sony if it is still in warranty.

My sony DSC H10 cameras flash isnt working what could it be?

Hi,

If the flash is not functioning, then the Camera flash may be turned off or ot is set to Auto and will only flash when the taking pictures in poorly lit environments. To turn on the flash so it works regardless of the lighting conditions, press the flash button on the Camera until the Forced Flash icon appears on the LCD screen. The flash button on the Camera has a lightning bolt symbol on it.
If the Forced Flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting it enabled, the flash will still not work in the following settings.
When shooting movies.
When shooting in the Twilight or Handheld Twilight mode.
When shooting with the Burst or Multi Burst mode.
Shooting with the Fireworks or high sensitivity mode. (ISO)
Following the above steps should resolve the issue. However, if the issue persists try resetting the Camera back to factory settings and specifications.
Try power resetting the Camera to check if it resolves the issue. To power reset the Camera, turn off the Camera and remove the battery pack. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Remain the Camera without power for 60 seconds and reinsert the battery.
This should resolve the issue.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am just trying to turn on the flash for when i take pictures. but i don't know how

You have to choose "forced flash". Try the buttons at the bottom of the LCD screen and scroll across them until you find the flash icon (looks like a lightening bolt). Then it lights up your choices on the other side, choose with that column of buttons. If you just choose Automatic it will only flash when it's dark, but if you choose forced flash it will always do it. You may have to use the P shooting mode or AUTO shooting mode to get the forced flash option.

I bought a Sony DSC t700 approximately 6 months

If the built-in flash does not function, then the camera may be set to Auto and will only flash when taking pictures in poorly illuminated environments.
To set the camera to the Forced flash setting so it will flash regardless of the surrounding brightness, press the UP ARROW on the control button until a lightning bolt icon appears on the LCD screen.

If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances:
When shooting MPEG movies
When set to the Twilight mode
If an external flash is connected
If in the Burst or Multi Burst mode

Please touch the MENU option on the screen of the Camera.
Then, select the REC MODE under the MENU.
Then, select NORMAL under the REC MODE.

If you're not able to select the NORMAL under the REC MODE, try Initializing the Camera.

First, please touch the HOME on the LCD screen of the Camera.
Then, select the SETTINGS in the HOME menu.
Then, select the MAIN SETTINGS under the SETTINGS.
Then, select the Initialize under the MAIN SETTINGS.

If the issue still persists after performing the troubleshooting steps provided above service of the Camera is required.

It's required to physically examine the Camera to determine the exact issue at the service center.

Flash not working

"Forced on" means the flash is forced. Try "Forced OFF". Note that there are several options and scenes when the flash is enabled by default.

Cannot toggle Flash Mode

look for the 3 boxes icon (multiple shot mode) on your lcd screen at the top. Toggle the button for this (by the shutter button) until it goes away. this has 3 modes. My wife does this all the time!
