You need to manually configure the router.

Connect a computer directly to the router using ethernet cable and access the router page using address http://192.68.1.1

Username = admin and password = password

Click on ADSL settings in the left hand side menu. Enter the requred infor VPI= 0 VCI =101. Select the required multipexing mode.

Hope this helps.

I aplogize the information provided was for ADSL router and not for cable/dsl router. The router you have is WNDR3300 and will not work with your ADSL conection form O2. You need to configure ADSL modem in place of WNDR3300.

    suggested models are DGN2000, DG834G

Applogies. This router will not work with ADSL connection. you need to have ADSL router like DG834G to connect to internet throug O2 ADSL connection

I recently installed a netgear wndr3300 router at my home. I went through the setup process with no problem, and everything checked out ok. But when i clicked finished, a screen popped up saying the ip...

Hi there,

If this is the case, the setup wizard detected an IP conflict between the router and the modem. It means that the modems IP address is in the same range as you router so it has to be changed. If the IP address of your router was changed to 10.0.0.1 , you should be able to connect to the internet. Try accessing the routers setup page by opening a browser and type 10.0.0.1 at the address bar. It will ask you for a username or password. Type admin for the username and password for password (this is the default settings). If it does not work try to remember if you already have changed the username or password. Once you are in, enable the mac clone option. Check if it works.

Tip

Configure Netgear DG834g Router

Simple :
First check the (i) or DSL light of the router if it is on the check Number light is on or not..if any one of the number light out of 4 yes there would be 4 no. lights on the router which represents port or u can say ethernet ports of the router.once that light is on then you are ready to configure your router.Default ip of the netgear router would be 192.168.0.1 by typing this in the address bar of the router u will get the access to the router page. Then click on basic settings put in your user name and password provided by ur isp. put encapsulation pppoE instead of pppoA and save then go to adsl settings and chose the multiplexing as llc based and save after that ur good to go

Trying to first-time install netgear model DG834v4 ADSL2+ in my iMAC with Mac OS X 10.4.11, so (according to manual) I cannot use Wizard and must do manually. Wiring is OK, I am connected to ADSL network...

Internet won't come up. I talked to the cable company, and we disconnected the belkin router and internet came up. I tried to reconnect it to the router, and it still won't come up.

Sounds like ADSL setings might be incorrectly configured.
RESET your Router (Remember: All your settings on the Router will be Lost)
Login to your router.
Check the Basic Settings and recheck your User ID and Pwd.
Check whether your ISP using LLC-based or VC-Based Multiplexing method.
Check VPI and VCI range.
Run diagnostics on your router and check it recieved any public IP, hope this helps

How to install and will this box allow my desktops(2 of them ) to both be connected to a wireless network?

There are 2 ways to setup Netgear
1. Setup Wizard (which guides you through a setup wizard)
2. Manual Configuration (you need to put all values in router manually)

Here we are not discussing Setup Wizard as Manual configuration is far much easier then auto configuration

To configure (config) Netgear we need to get into router page
To open router config page
1. Open Internet Explorer (Start>>all prog>>Internet Explorer)
2. Type in address bar 192.168.0.1
3. In username box type admin (where it says gateway 192.168.0.1 requires username & password)
4. In password box type password (word password itself)
After this you will find Netgear ADSL Wireless Router Setup page

Here we need to select Basic Settings (as shown below)
basicsettings.jpg

after this you will find next page as

basicsettingsscreen.jpg

Here in this page (Basic Settings Page)

Does your internet connection requires login, Select Yes
Select Encapculation as PPPoE
Login is Username as provided by your ISP
Password is your password for broadband connection as provided by your ISP
Keep Idle timeout as 0

after this simply press apply without changing anything else

Now We Need to click on ADSL Settings Page
adslsettings.jpg

Now on ADSL Setting Page We got only 3 options

adslsettingsscreen.jpg
Multiplexing Method Should be LLC-Based
VPI 0
VCI 35

now just press apply again

By this time your router should be only (you can check it by opening any website on Internet Explorer or by router status option on netgear page)

To Config Wireless

Click on Wireless Option (on left hand side blue panel)

wirelesssettings.jpg

It should display next page as

wirelesssettingsscreen.jpg

Here in this page

Wireless Network Name (SSID) Alpha-Numeric name which would be displayed as your wireless network name

Region Here Select Your Region

Channel: Select whichever channel give you best sighal (9, 11, 13 are recommended)

Keep the TIck on Enable Wireless Access Point

Keep the Tick on Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)

Can Untick Wireless Isolation

Then Jump to Security Options

Select WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre Shared Key)

then in WPA-PSK Security Encryption type in anything of your own choice but alphabets and numbers both should be there and make it between 8 to 63 characters long.
WPA-PSK Security Encryption Key is your password for wireless network

Now Press Apply and your router is ready for wireless too

After doing this you can change MTU (Maximum Transmit Unit) size to 1400 from WAN Setup Option

You can find WAN Setup Option in same blue panel on left hand side of screen

wansetup.jpg

Here you just need to change MTU to 1400 and need not to change any other setting

wansetupscreen.jpg

Now its all done and router is ready to send wireless signal to your system/laptop

Try to change the Local or LAN IP Address of your Zyxel to 192.168.5.1 and do not configure the Zyxel router for PPPoE Connection. It should be configured as Obtain IP Automatically or Automtic DHCP.

Unable to install after 81 %

If the setup CD is unable to setup your modem/router (it is also called a "gateway") you can do the router configuration via the Web User Interface of the router. you will need ADSL settings such as:
a. Encapsulation mode. (typically PPPoA or PPPoE)
b. Multiplexing: (it can be LLC or VC)
c. Virtual Circuit Range.
d. Username & Password (ADSL UN/PW)

note: All of these ADSL settings should be provided/given to you by your ISP/ADSL provider. You can call your ISP for this settings.

just notify me if you will need further assistance doing this, but first make sure you have all the settings for ADSL.
