Replacing a hard drive can be time consuming, but you gain knowledge in the process. Is it a newer SATA or SATAII drive or the older IDE drive? They're both pretty easy as long as you set up for an external boot device before you pull it out. We'll have to go more into specifics when I hear from you next.
