What you will want to do is get a patch cable. It is cable that has a headphone jack on each end. You will plug that to your line in on your computer. Then you can use any software of your choice to record the tapes to MP3. Then do what you wish from there.

You need a tape deck with line out jacks. Hook up line out jacks to line in jack on your computer. You'll need appropriate software to do the conversion - for example Audacity - it's free.

Try Magix Audio cleaning Lab. I have version 12 it has presets that will clean the sound up and make it sound better. Once done you can save it to all manor of formats.
I got mine on Amazon.
