I know I'm a little late with this answer but before doing any or all the above, test the power cord. Hope this helps.

Remove all the cables, then take the battery out. Press down the power button for 10s. But the battery back in, connect the AC adapter and try to start.

If nothing happens, most likely HW issue.

SOURCE: Acer Aspire 5010.. Power on, but Blank screen/ hard drive light also not.

Hi,
This could be a Power/Switch Problem.
Faulty Hard-Drive.
Solution:- Leave the laptop turned Of And charge the battery to Full Capacity. ( usually between 4-16 Hours ) depending on capacity.
This will also fully charge the CMOS ( memory battery )
then boot the laptop up, and see if this solves your problem.
If not i,d suggest running a scandisk or hard-drive diagnostic program, to ensure that you have no Viruses-bad sectors on the hard-drive.
If you need further assistance please don,t hesitate to ask for more help and advice.

SOURCE: acer aspire 7720 start up problems

You need to try to isolate the problem. Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop. Press function screen keys. If you have a picture on your external monitor then you have a video problem - most likely an inverter, although you may need a new screen, unlikely but possible.

If you have no picture then you have a system problem. Disconnect the battery and AC adapter. Remove the memory and reseat. Repower your laptop and see what happens.

SOURCE: How to replace Acer Aspire 5630 Hard Drive

The link below gives you the user manual. On the computer views is the base view which will show you the correct bay on the bottom of the computer. You will loosed the screws to that bay, remove the cover andl you will see the hard drive. Althought I have not removed this particular laptop hard drive, these drives usually pull up or back using a tab provided. The hard drive will probably have a cradle the actual drive is connected to. You will have to removed the old drive from this cradle and put the new drive back on the cradle exactly the way the old drive was attached,

I hope that this information helps and gives you a place to start solving your issue.

SOURCE: ACER Aspire laptop power cycles on and off

Sir, form the symptoms I believe that the Battery is completely dead, the system is unable to identify the battery. If possible try checking the battery with a similar model, and the the system should be all set to go.

Acer Aspire One D257 - 13450 Will not come on. It takes a full charge, but when you push the power button absolutely nothing happens. Would this be the mother board?

check hard disk and/or ram if connected properly. Clean the motherboard (do it crefully) with soft brush. Check cmos battery voltage, a button cell on motherboard, it should be around 3 volts, if that doesnt fix, you will have to take it to its service centre. Thank you

You can't recreate what was lost after you re-partition or re-format a hard drive. The FBI can, but the average individual cannot.

Acer aspire 5532 won't start

I had the same identical problem with a Toshiba. I got hit with a 'rootkit'. It's like a virus on steroids. If it didn't cook your hard drive AND motherboard, a computer shop MIGHT have the necessary resources to fix it. Hopefully, you kept everything backed up.

Please try removing battery for a moment (getting cold) and install it again, don't forget to connect charger, after the charge is completed try to turn it on, if there's no motherboard failure the computer should work normally, but if not, maybe you have a "fried" motherboard that needs to be replaced.

I have an Acer 5670 Laptop, I replaced the HDD with a new SATA drive and when I powered up the laptop, the Video card fan starts, the CD drive cycles once, the drive light flashes 3 times, then it stops....

Sounds like it. Try taking out the hard drive, disconnect all usb devices and anything attached, and try to run POST again...Being a laptop, there is not a whole lot else you can do if it won't POST. YOu can try swapping in some different RAM that is known to be good also.

My acer aspire one aoa 150 shows a power light on and i can hear the fan but there is nothing but a black screen.

Your hard drive may have died. and if this is not the case and you can hear the drive spinning, then your monitor power cord from screen to motherboard has failed.
