Question about GE Refrigerators
This is an ''ATAG'' side by side. The icemaker has a label inside reading GE so I guess that's the manufacturer. Model: KE711W5H/3/A01, about 6 years old.
I get a DE (defrost) error. Temperature in freezer compartment too high (30 top, 20 bottom). Fridge side 40 degrees. Ice maker not working.
Most probably the defrost heater is faulty. (Ice starts building up at back panel). Icemaker not making ice probably caused by temp being too high.
My question though: I had the fridge switched off and completely defrosted everything with hairdryer. After switching on, the fridge never reaches temps lower than 20-30 degrees. Does this make sense?
I mean, shouldn't it reach normal temps (after, say, 24-30 hours) before the frosting becomes a problem?
PS - compressor running, fans running, door seals ok...
