How do I remove the clutch cover from a Ryobi chainsaw?

There are two nuts that hold the clutch cover and chain bar in place. The same nuts you would loosen to adjust the chain tension. Once those are taken off the cover, bar and chain can be removed.

My Ryobi 10532 chainsaw chain will not turn. The chain lock is off, it is a new chain. I replaced the old chain as it caught in a stump and stopped turning

pull the chain clutch back towards the handle
it is not a chain lock but a clutch release that stops the chain from turning
pulling it back engages the clutch to drive it

Manual ryobi chainsaw

Chain replacement is basically the same on all chainsaws. Loosen the side retaining nuts on the cover over the chain. Now loosen the chain tension screw ( usually a flat headed screw) at least 4 full turns. Put the saw on its side with the blade up. Remove those side cover nuts and the side cover - the blade should sag as you remove the nuts. push the blade towards the engine, paying attention to the direction of the teeth on the chain. remove the chain and clean out the junk from behind the chain around the sprocket and from the inside of the side cover. The emergency brake band is located inside the cover - make sure you clean out the debris from around the band, tensioner screw assembly, and cover. Re-install the new chain, orienting the teeth in the correct direction. Re-install the side cover, making sure the tensioner pin goes into the hole in the bar ( blade). Slightly tighten the side nuts, then re-tension the chain until you can just pull the teeth off the bar. tighten the nuts, being sure you don't over tighten them ( a little past snug is good). Run the saw for a few minutes ( doing 1 cut will speed this step along). Loosen the side cover nuts and re-tension the chain, the re-tighten the nuts.
Hope this helps!!

We have a ryobi 4046C chainsaw and the oil is not getting onto the chain. Have removed the bar and cleaned the hole where the oil should be coming out from to no avail. This is a chainsaw that hasn't had...

Re problems with oil feed on ryobi 4046C, Oil is fed by worm drive and this becomes worn. Contact Augmented Agents on 0161 477 3388 and they will assist you with necessary parts. if you don't know which part ring 01628894400 they will e-mail you blow up plan and parts list. The drive cog is a left hand thread and can be nocked off with a drift of some description (I used a screw driver held flat) this then exposes screws to access oil pump

My ryobi chainsaw rcs 2040 keeps stopping but motor is still running, chain not moving!

RYOBI----- with the motor running at high revs the chain stops indicates that the sprocket behind the centrifugal clutch is worn out or the centrifugal clutch itself ,or the clutch shoes are worn out the way to tell is to remove the bar and chain and have alook where the chain was conected to the saw, i think you will see the sprocket is buggered and as that is attatched to the clutch drum that will have to be replaced along with clutch springs and shoes, i think you have been running the chain a bit too loose or not running it at realy high revs ,which is what they are designed to do ,cme back to me if you feel the need

I am trying to get the blade off my ryobi 4046c chainsaw so I can replace the chain. I have the two largr bolts off but not sure what else is keeping the clutch cover on.

Shouldn't be anything else. The bar might just be stuck a little through buildup of dust and chips etc. try riggling the back back and forward to see if it will free it. The cover should be removed and the internal areas cleaned after each use for maximum life.

Ryobi battery chainsaw 10" - How do I tighten the chain?

loosen the two nuts that hold the chain cover on. Once they are just loose, then use a flat blade screw driver to turn the slot that you see right next to the base of the chain. Once the chain is tight, retighten the two nuts.
