As soon as i connect the phone all the lights on the buttons turn on orange and nothing is displayed on the screen. Phone doesnt have a dial tone or anything.
Do you have another 5312 on your network? If so swap it out and see if it is the phone or configuration
Everyone if our office has the 5312. I have tested different phones on the same port and they all work. Changed the cables as well and that hasnt made any difference. I have tried connecting the faulty phone to another working port with a working cable and i get the same problem. all the lights (except the top right light thats usually for voicemail indicator) are on constantly. They are not blinking or anything. I left the phone off for 24 hours and tried again. Still the same problem.
I would say you have a bad phone.

You have a feature active on your phone it's more than likely a call forward feature which would redirect you calls. The broken dial tone or stutter dial tone is an indicator a feature is active. Contact you system admin for the clear all feature code and the clear all call forwarding codes.

Are you referring to the Mitel Cordless handset or headset? The handset and headset must be paired to the module on the back of the phone. Press and hold the button until the display indicates pairing. Then press the Answer button on the handset or headset.
