    do the above
then run ntbackup go through the motions, when the dialogue box pops up asking for a "Comphrehensive DLT driver for Windows 2000/XP/Vista" etc just navigate to
    c:\windows(or WINNT)\system32\drivers\QDLTx32.sys
    this fixed me....
if this does not work copy the file from another system

Check all cabling etc and that the drive is seen on the scsi bus and in device manager.

Make sure you have selected the correct drive type from the list.

This ois a common problem with ntbackup on all versions

I would suggest trying a different backup program since ntbackup / windows back up is a real pain as well as having no database of what is on what tape etc

MacBookpPro osx10.4.11 doesn't recognize new WD passport

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.

an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

My teac dvd rom dv 28c is not recognizing any media i insert. The driver utility says it is working properly. any suggestions

I had a very similar problem with my DV9000. Windows reported the drive was fine but no media was recognized. I even flashed the drive with new firmware and nothing. The drive is defective, if you have a spare, I would suggest swapping it out.

I have a philips go gear and when I plug into my usb it says do not disconnect.. Then it says o.k to disconnect but the windows media player never recognizes it as a device.. What can I do?

have you installed the proper drivers?
when in the windows explorere menu the go gear can be found, you can handle it like a hard ddisk an d copy the mp3's manually onto it.
if recognized as player, try to open any mp3 on it using winMP or get vlc-player or winamp(for free!)
instead.
if player is not properly recognized by win,
there is no proper data management available, too.
good luck

Windows xp wont recognize usb connection from rave. Is there a driver I need?

If you're using the retractable usb cable that came with the player, replace it. I had the same problem. XP recognized that there was a device, but couldn't open it. I was getting a "Driver not installed" error in device manager.

Trouble Installing MP3 player.

Are you using a USB1 or a USB2 connection for the device. I found that on my older computer which still utilizes USB1 I had the same problem but on my newer PC utilizing USB2 it was recognized correctly and I had access to all the folders. Both PCs run XP.
