Have a 2017 jayco freedom motor home with the electric bed. Bed is stuck in the up position & will not come down

20160912_145359-zvse2t43rh2wgzoypk0ynhom-4-2.jpg Here is an example of a Tempurpedic electric bed. Depending on your preference to find a cure or to just woke a band aid to give temporary results. On the first picture you see the screen lever attached to frame rail to raise and lower the head. If you remove the cotter pin and push out the connecting pin, you will be able to detach the motor drive system to lower the head for sleeping. On the other hand, the second picture shows the motor assembly. If you can detach it vs trying repair it in an awkward position, you can open the casing to check the screw drive that extend the shaft that you just detected. While there, check the wiring and plug connection to make sure everything is solid. If you have an assistant and a multimeter, you could also check to verify you have voltage, which should be 120VAC, when the switch is being pushed to raise as well as lower. Maybe check the plug and power before disconnecting anything, just in case.

My mother in law has a craftmatic bed and the bed will not lower. The head and feet raise and lower, but the whole bed is stuck in the up position. Is there a way to manually lower it?

Only if you can get to the motor and take off the cover and get a spanner or socket and rotate it till the bed lowers if possible but it can be dangerous

The bed is stuck with head up can I manually lower the bed

We have a Tempur-pedic. Each side is controlled by its own remote. It also has battery backup for each side (head and foot) in case the power goes out. We simply push a little button on the battery controlled box on whichever side needs lowered. It works to lower them, but they cannot be raised in a power outage. If you don't have something like that, or a manual crank or something, I suggest you call the company and ask THEM what to do. If it's stuck with the power still on, then even more reason to call the company.

fully dismatle the cot, keep all the bits.. Take the two slatted sides to bits and put the base pieces of wood from these to one side.
pull the headboard and footboard (is that whats its called) apart take the feet from the footboard and add to the headboard (they are now the sole head and foot boards) screw the 4 nuts with blanking plates to the top 4 holes on the new head and footboards
take the two long slatted size bases and screw them to the lower holes on the head and footboard put the base brackets (L shapped screws) into the corners put the cot base onto the L shaped screws done
