Colds are basically viral infections that affect the nose, throat and sinuses. Younger kids and babies can catch up to 10 colds a year on average. Mostly colds are not dangerous and get better by themselves but if you see any of the following, you should consult with your doctor;

- Cold symptoms for more than 10 days especially with green or yellow mucus.

- Any breathing difficulties.

Are there any home or natural remedies to treat bronchitis?

Have you tried steam treatments? It's a really easy way to loosen the mucus and lubricate your throat. Put hot water in a sink or a bowl and stick a towel over your head and inhale the steam for about 5 minutes. You can do this several times a day.

My husband has flu and my friend told me that he has to drink a lot. Does that really help?

Yes, your husband should stay well hydrated and drink at least 8 cups of water a day. The water helps to thin down mucus which has the potential to hang around and turn into a respiratory infection. Hot drinks also have the added benefit of being soothing for sore throats etc.

Avoid caffeine filled drinks as they can cause dehydration.

Does eating dairy have any impact on snoring levels?

Eating dairy can cause a build up in mucus in some people and mucus blocks the nasal passages and airways which is one of the causes of snoring.

So if you suffer from extra mucus after you eat dairy and you snore at night, it's worth avoiding dairy products in the evenings and see if it helps.
