I get an error 1 message on the CD player in the car when I put a CD in to play. It says it's loading disk for quite a while, then Error # 1 comes across the display.

Hi, I'm having the same problem ... when I try to insert a homemade cd it tries to read the cd but gives an error. Now I wondered, forella, did you try a factory cd? By that I mean a bought cd. Those work very well with my lausanne CD31, the only problem seems to be home made cd's. If anyone knows the solution to this problem, caugh it up :) Greets, and be sure to try those bought cd's forella.

I have the same problem now too. It shows up error 11, 12 or 17. I tried using a cleaning CD but did not work. I think the lens needs to be replaced.

I was able to fix the problem by buying a disc lens cleaner at an electronics store and allowing it to "play" for 1-2 minutes. Was also told you could possibly clean the laser-reader with a cotton swab soaked with rubbing alcohol. Otherwise the laser-reader may be bad or out of alignment.
