Question about Rinnai RHFE-1004FA 38,400 BTU Energy Saver Ductless Heater - Natural Gas

1 Answer

Heater slow coming back on after having reached temperature.

When the heater has brought the room to the set temperature and has shut down the sensed temperature continues to rise because of the residual heat in the heater it self.
This means that the heater does not come back on until the room has dropped as much as 5 degrees in temperature and is quite uncomfortable.

What type of heater is it? Where is the thermostat in relation to the unit? Is this a "one piece" self contained type that heats a small room and sits on the floor?

We installed a mr. heather IR30LPT, set the fan to auto and the control to #1, however, the unit runs continuously without shutting off. The room is less that 1000 sq. feet. Can you tell me why the unit is...

THERMOSTAT CONTROL OPERATION
FOR IR20LPT / IR30LPT: The thermostatic control used
simply turns on and off the burner.
FOR BF20LPT / BF30LPT: The thermostatic control
used modulates the flame size as the temperature gets
closer to set point, then it turns off the burner upon
reaching temperature.
The burner will cycle back on when room temperature
drops below the set temperature. The control knob can
be set to any heat level between 1 and 5. Selecting the
HI setting will cause the burner to remain on.
Note: The thermostat sensing bulb measures the
temperature of air near the heater cabinet. This
may not always agree with room temperature
(depending on housing construction, insulation
location, room size, open air temperature, etc.).
Frequent use of your heater will let you determine
your own comfort levels.
The LED temperature indicator measures approximate
room temperature around the heater.
Note: The LED temperature indicator DOES NOToperate with or control the thermostat setting of the
heater.
IF YOUR UNIT IS NOT TURNING OFF IN POSITION 1 BUT THE TEMPERATURE AROUND IT IS HIGH THAN THERMOSTAT IS STUCK AND YOU HAVE TO CHANGE IT OR VISIT SERVICE.
1-5 knob has no info what is the parameters of temperature sorry!

My heay surge stove will run for awhile and then shut down

The heater is thermostatically controlled, so once the room temperatures reaches the heater's preset temperature, the heater cycles off. This is normal.

However, If the heater goes off BEFORE the room reaches the preset temperature, suspect a high temperature safety switch that may be tripping. Does the heater come back on after it cools down?

My dyson hot fan will not give out air under 24 degrees?

Hi Charlie, it's Jack at Dyson.

When you adjust the target temperature of your Dyson Hot fan heater (shown on the LED display on the base), you're setting the target temperature you would like the room heated to. The actual temperature of airflow produced by the fan heater will not vary.

If the heater won't run below 24 degrees, this is likely to be because the temperature of the room you're in is equal to or warmer than 24 degrees. The heater will only turn itself on if the temperature drops below 24 degrees, and once the room temperature reaches this target once again, the fan will turn itself back to monitoring mode.

I've attached our Getting started video below which shows how to adjust the temperature, using the remote or the controls on the base.

I hope this makes sense. It sounds as if your machine is working correctly, but if you'd like any further advice from our experts you can reach us at 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson hot and cold fan only works in hot mode

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

When you adjust the target temperature of your Dyson Hot fan heater (shown on the LED display on the base), you're setting the target temperature you would like the room heated to. The actual temperature of airflow produced by the fan heater will not vary.

If the heater won't run below 25 degrees, this is likely to be because the temperature of the room you're in is equal to or warmer than 25 degrees. The heater will only turn itself on if the temperature drops below 25 degrees, and once the room temperature reaches this target once again, the fan will turn itself back to monitoring mode.

Have model MD300TGA with blower.Blower is set on auto but doesnt kick on.When should blower start up after room has reached desired temp. and heater has shut off?

There should be a limit switch and once the heater reaches the set temperature the blower gets signal from the limit and that turns on the blower. If you are not getting the blower until after the room is up to temp then it is coming on it may be the low limit is bad and it is cooling itself down on the high limit. If you are unsure of this please consult a heating service person, this is a serious problem that a trained service person should deal with. This can lead to a house fire!

Rennai 551 FA-P Never fully shuts off

Hebert,

Is there a chance there is a draft around the room temp probe? It is down low on the right side of the heater. If there is a draft the room sensor is fooled and keeps running the unit. You should be able to prove the room sensor by putting your hand over it after the stove has been running for a while. This should shut the stove down. If not there is a problem with the room sensor.

Underneath the heater element are two thermostats that are run in series with each other. Inside the wire that connects them is a thermal fuse that opened up. Replacing the fuse corrected the problem.

Dayton 3E227A Heating Cycle

The sensor for the thermostat is probably going bad or has bad connections. It is (or thinks it is) heating up fast and therefore shuts of the heater.

The heater shuts off when it reaches two degrees above the set temperature and turns back on when it is two degrees below.
