The motor and filter seem to be ok, but can't get it to prime. Everything is working, just very little water pumping into filter.

It sounds like you have a suction leak or a clogged impeller. A quick way to check the impeller is to fill the pump pot (where the basket is) with water, then start the pump with the lid OFF. The water should be sucked down into the pump immediately. Turn the pump off. If it took more than about half a second for the water to disappear you need to open the pump and clear the debris from the impeller.
Otherwise any leak from the skimmer to the pump will cause the problem. Make sure your pump lid o-ring is lubricated.

D1796 3-4 years old. Power on, lights flash, but when close door to start d/w, no noises made, water does not flow or anything. Water supply is on. Water valve to d/w open. Worked flawlessly until today.

here could be two problems...The drain could be clogged, or the water pump could be bad. Or the belt that runs the pump is sliping or broken. [edit] Steps
  1. Fill washer with water and wait for the timer to get to the drain mode.
  2. Unplug the washer from the electric outlet.
  3. Open the case, and disconnect the water hose from the outlet of the water pump.
  4. If you get water pouring out from the pump, then plug that up and check the hose to the sewer. If that is clogged, then you have found the problem.
  5. Some washers have a self cleaning filter in that hose somewhere. Check that to be sure it is working properly.
  6. Reassemble hose from step 3.
  7. Plug washer back in. If it pumps out now, then you are done. If it doesn't, then the water pump is probably defective, so replace it.
  8. Reassemble washing machine case...you're done...

We got a above ground salt water pool an it's turning a little green what would be the best thing to put in it.

The first thing to do is to shock it with vinyl to about 10 ppm. This should start the progress to blue. Follow the Intex instructions to make sure the pool contains the correct amount of salt and stabilizer. The pump, filter and chlorinator should be run continuously until the water has clarified. The chlorine should then be kept between 2 and 4 ppm. One last suggestion, the filter gets plugged more quickly when you have shocked the pool to get rid of algae so make sure you clean the filter to keep the flow up. I hope this helps.

If the little balls were perfectly round and steel, then they are balls from a ball bearing. Things are not going to run right until you find the bearing and replace it.

My intex salt water system alarm goes off and code 90 is flashing and there is little flow. If I take out the type A filter to the pump that came with my Ultra Frame above ground pool, the flow is...

What you need to do is either clean out the filter cartridge or replace it with a new one. If you have a spray nozel for your hose you can clean the cartridge by adjusting the nozel so it is a small but strong stream. Run the stream up and down on the cartridge until all the area has been covered and then install it in the system. If you still have little flow then you should replace the filter cartridge.

I hope this helps.

I have a Lochinvar pool heater that on the dispaly is showing Air Pressure Switch Open. I looked at the manual and it talks about air flow from the supply vent and exhaust vent. Than it says about...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Try this before taking anything apart to far:

The pressure switch is located in the front header, behind the

upper side jacket panel, above the water connections. When

required, the pressure switch can be reset with the following

procedure:

1. Clean filter and skimmer.

2. Start filter pump.

3. Set digital thermostat to highest setting.

4. Turn the adjustment knob on the pressure switch clockwise

until the combustion air fan in the front control panel turns

off. Fan will not turn off if system pressure exceeds 5 PSI.

5. Slowly turn the adjustment knob counter-clockwise until the

combustion air fan turns on. Turn knob an additional ΒΌ turn

counter-clockwise.

6. Turn filter pump off and on several times. The heater should

shut down immediately when the pump stops.

7. If the heater does not shut down immediately as the filter

pump stops, repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 until proper operation

is achieved.
8. Reset thermostat to desired temperature setting.

If after doing all of the above you still have the problem.... you can remove the switch and check for debris in the water passages. If you find debris remove it, reinstall the switch and repeat steps above.

- Still have the problem... Replace the switch.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Intake to filter has little suction

Hello,
If you are still looking for some solutions, here they are.
Start by plugging both your out put and input in the pool
or simply close the plungers
If you are uncertain the flow sensor is ok then blast it out with the garden hose. Make sure it swings freely
now take out your cartridge and blast it too
now remove your hose from the inlet to the pump
even though you may be skimming and things go in the basket hair still gets through and cloggs up in front of the filter
this also will happen with out a skimmer
Put it all back together and now open the top bleeder on the cartridge cover
open outlet side hose first
when water starts comong out the bleeder open the inlet hose
now turn on pump for 30 seconds and then close the bleeder
This should do it
Please remeber to rate this solution

Hi my zanussi zwf1432s stopped halfway through washing green light on start/pause button flashs wont do nothing else all lights will change when cyle chosen but will not start justs beeps then back to...

Hello Paula,
Do not know how many flashes but 1green/1red = 11 water pressure low.
2green/1red = 21 blocked filter or pump fault.
You would be best firstly checking the filter and make sure it is clean and pump turns.with water drained and filter out shine torch into filter put on spin/drain and see if pump blade spins if not then try and turn with long screwdriver to free out any debris then refit filter and check for leaks and try donnt fill fully until you are happy it can drain water.
Hope I was of some help.

Good Luck

My pool pump won't prime

If the pump is above the pool water level the it is unlikly that the tank will fill completely with valves open (which is ok). Most pumps are self priming and will pick up a prime with water level below suction inlet on strainer. Try starting on main drain again and slowly open skimmer line. Did you remove water from skimmer line and winterize(if in cold weather climate)during closing?.I know this sounds stupid, but make sure water level in pool is well into skimmer. If air situation remains after scspriggs' and these thoughts then prepare for a pressure test on skimmer line to determine location of leakage.
