If the oven was still slightly warm to the touch when you came home is probably fine. 45 minutes was not enough time to get the turkey hot down near the bone, so if it was cool I would discard it. But if you were lucky and it was still warm, go ahead.

depends on the weight 10 to 14 pound maximum, is the time limitations usually involved. It takes between 6 and 8 hours to smoke a 12 pound turkey and the bigger they get, the longer they take.
