After installing a new hard drive in my desktop computer, it still does not work. It says no boot device available. Sata's 0 & 1 installed but 2 & 3 uninstalled

No boot device available means the boot device hard drive on your system has no bootable operating system installed on it, or it is faulty. In the BIOS setup program, does the computer recognize the hard drive you installed, and is it included in the boot device list? If you installed a new hard drive because of a failure of the C: drive, the new hard disk does not come with an operating system. You have to install that on the new hard drive from the manufacturer's system restore disks. SATA channels 1 and 2 are just the connections on the motherboard for devices, and usually have a hard drive on one connection and a cd rom drive on the other. Giving the model and manufacturer of your computer might provide more clues.

Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7815 re-soldered cmos battery onto mother board and re-set the bios, now I have the f2 and f12 option available, tried to boot cd/dvd drive with windows 8 disk and it will not

Go into the BIOS setting abd check it the BIOS detects the hard disk and CD/DVD drive.
If it detects these drives then go to the boot device order and select the CD as the first boot device then the hard disk as the 2nd boot device.

My inspiron 531 says no boot device available

Computer is not configured to boot from your hard disk drive (SATA 0),
you need to go into the BIOS (set-up) menu and make that drive the fisrt boot device.

Can Gateway MX3215 boot to usb stick?

If you go into the BIOS configuration then the Device boot order and you do not see the USB port in the list, then an USB boot up option is not available.
If it is available the move the USB as the first boot device so you can boot up with an USB memory stick.

I am attempting to run full reload of this system using an exterior hard drive with usb connection. The reload will not start using thid device. I did not buy the docking station for this system when I...

Most laptops cannot boot up from a USB device/hard drive. Check the BIOS configuration to see if the USB is available in the boot order devices. In this case the USB driver is not available for use until Windows is installed.
If the USB is not available in the BIOS Boot order then you need to reinstall Windows using the installation CD in the CD drive..

No boot device available- strike F1 to retry boot F2 for setup utility

you can try this steps to resolve your issue:
1. clean your disc drive with white cloth and alcohol
2. try to re-install the OS
3. if this won't work try to download another boot disk like EBCD
or ask a friend to create you a boot disc and try to boot your computer with it.

- This can rule out or confirm a Bad Windows OS disc, thus let's you install you Windows OS in the process.

4. try to re-install again the OS

BIOS!!!

No boot device available means that there is no Operating System available. F12 is the key that will get you into the Dell BIOS, not F2. Once there change your Boot Order to your HDD first. Good luck!!
