VR function of Sigma 150-500 lens won't work on my Nikon D5300!!!

You have two options at the moment
A) USB dock firmware upgrade
B) sigma service centre repair if parts available
A home hatchet job on the lens NOT A HOPE yet as no one desperate enough yet to wreck their lens in the attempt
My advice sell the lens or the body and use the previous Nikon model that works

Try a camera shop or go on line to Sigma's customer services and make a request.

Bc displays on the LCD indicator of EOS 3

Sigma do not licence their lenses from Canon so do not have access to the latest information or firmware that Canon bodies use. This often means their lenses do not work properly with some Canon SLR bodies! Will you still buy Sigma in future?

Does a "Sigma APO DG

It will fit, but you cannot guarantee that it will be fully compatible.

Third party lens manufacturers have to reverse engineer the patented technology of SLR manufacturers and then arrive at their own alternative and non-infringing solutions. As a result, their lenses are only ever guaranteed compatible with the SLR models available at the time they were manufactured, and if those cameras subsequently have firmware updates then all bets are off.

Sigma do offer an update service on many of their lenses, but it's not free and the lens has to go back to them for modifications.

The only lenses you can be sure of being compatible are the original Canon branded models.

70x300mm sigma zoom to be fixed after dropping it - focus does not work properly - seems the grears are stripped

That is not a DIY repair, you cannot even get the parts unless you are in the trade.

Sigma usually offer fixed price repairs so send it back. As part of the repair service they also update the lenses firmware as standard to ensure compatibility with later Canon models.

I have a fat error and says to reformat external media with sigma telformatter how do i do this

The firmware is probably corrupted. Go to RCA's site ( and download the firmware update/install utility for the model that you have.
You'll most likely have to choose the "reformat" option (which will erase all of your music) to get it to work.

I just bought the lense. The Firmware on my Canon Rebel T1i adjust automatically to my two Canon lenses, but show that I have to download firmware for the Sigma lens. Where do I get that?

There is no update for the Sigma lens since it is inter-related to the update you do for your camera, however you can check if there is any update available for your Canon Camera and it should automatically fix any issues you have with the lens/camera.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi i have a nicon d70 it was working fine when taking photo's on saterday went to change lens from sigma 28-70 to sigma to sigma 75-300 and it came up with error code R07 and noththing worked changed back...

Have you tried formating the memory card? R07 means it has 7 shots in internal memory. Since you have already pressed the reset through the small hole in the front, if formatting the card does not work, try downloading the latest firmware from Nikon and installing it.

Nikon D200 problem with SIGMA 28-200 lens - works on one D200 and not my other

Sigma lenses sometimes need re-chipping for full compatability with certain Nikon camera. They are usually quite good about doing this gratis.
Try the Sigma on another body at the camera shop or at home (preferably and older AF film camera). If it works then its likely just a chip compatibility issue.
