Question about HP Pavilion a1253w Notebook

1 Answer

When trying to do a Sytem recovery, I get an Error Message.

Hello, we recently bought a new computer and now we are trying to do a system recovery on the old one so that it can be passed down through the family. When we put the recovery disk in and shut the computer off, then wait thirty seconds and turn it back on, we get an error message that says the recovery information is for an hp pavillion, if this message is appearing on an hp pavilion, please contact HP support. We contacted them and they wouldn't help us because the computer is not on warranty anymore. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to do a complete system recovery on a HP Pavilion a1253w desktop computer to restore the computer back to factory settings, deleting everything on the Hard Drive. Thanks A lot!

Recovering the system without using Windows

  1. Disconnect all peripherals and internal non preinstalled devices from the PC, except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  2. Turn on the computer.
  3. When the initial blue HP screen appears, press the F10 key repeatedly until a recovery menu appears. The progress indicator that first appears does not indicate that a recovery is taking place. The progress indicator represents the time before the recovery process is started.
  4. When the Recovery screen appears, click Next, and then click Yes to perform a normal, non-destructive recovery.
  5. To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced, and then click Yes.
  6. After the System Recovery is complete, and the computer starts successfully, update the computer software as follows:

My laptop says windows error recovery

The Windows Error Recovery message can appear for several reasons- an improper shutdown, new software, new hardware, etc. Since trying both options that you are given doesn't work, you need to troubleshoot the Windows startup error. If you have recently added new hardware, disconnecting or removing it could solve the problem for you as it might be creating some type of incompatibility.

Troubleshooting Windows Error Recovery: Last Known Good Configuration

You can attempt to boot up in Safe Mode and select Last Known Good Configuration and see if that works to resolve the Windows startup error. Turn the computer on and immediately begin to press the "F8″ key. If this does not work, you might need to press the "F2," "F10," or "F12″ key. Once you see the prompt screen, select "Last Known Good Configuration."

Troubleshooting Windows Error Recovery: Booting up from the Installation Disk

If that did not work, try booting up the laptop using the Windows installation disk - provided you still have it. If so, follow these steps:

1)   Turn the power button to your laptop on.

2)   Immediately insert the Windows installation disk that belongs to the laptop.

3)   When you see the option for "Check System," press the "ESC" key. Next, press the "F1″ key. Your laptop should now boot up.

4)   You can now use the "System Restore" feature to allow your laptop to return to a previous setting when it was functioning properly. This might mean selecting "R" for recovery.

Blue ecreen error, system shuts down

Hi.

Blue screen means that an exception handling memory or a different computer resource has ocurred.

Blue screen error often occurrs when the sytem is corrupt.

Usually it is possible to fix the problem reinstalling Windows operative system.

Before reinstalling Windows you can try starting the system in safe mode (try F8 on startup). If system starts in safe mode, do a system restore to a recent date before having the problem.

Windows can be reinstalled using either factory recovery disk or a generic Windows setup disk in conjunction with a valid Microsoft licence number.

In case reinstalling Windows does not fix the problem, even if there are more hardware faults that can cause the problem, the first culprit is usually RAM memory.
Try reinstalling the system first.

Hello I recently bought a secondhand computer and got wireless broadband. Recently it has been freezing and when i disconnect and try to re connect the wireless broadband i have a message pop up that says...

recently,i had the same problem with my pc.basically what i did was check to see if the internet is getting to the computer by going to the control panel and checking your connection.if it is saying that you are connected and you are still not gettin service more than likely it's your computer.best thing to do is backup your files and do a full sytem recovery and it should be corrected.

Please Help with a system recovery on a HP pavilion a1253w!

The reason the cd recovery did not work is that it was made for some other HP model.
On the unit you are trying to recover, reboot the computer and press F10 . several times. You should see a recovery menu. Select the type of recovery that will format and recover the unit to OEM defaults.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Windows error

First, make sure there are no discs in any of the drives as this could disrupt the boot process. Prior to seeing the HP screen you should get a prompt as to press F10 to go into system setup. Once in system setup choose the option to go to system restore or system recovery. From there you should be able to restore your computer to a sytem restore point that was set up with a checkpoint at set intervals by Windows XP. If that is unsuccessful you may have to utilize your recovery discs.
Good Luck.

RESTARTING COMPUTER(AMIGOS)

hi powee;
have you recently installed some device driver?

This error usually occurs after the installation of a buggy device driver, system service, or BIOS. To resolve it quickly, restart your computer, and press F8 at the character-mode menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting Windows 2000 Advanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time.
