Question about Dometic RM2852 Refrigerator
Does the propane have to be connected for it to power up?

Even though this unit does plug into a 110ac power supply it also requires 12v to power the circuit boards and the unit will not work with out the 12v. On the back side of the refrigerator verify that the pos/neg 12v wires have been properly connected to the plastic connector block. Next, on the side of the riser tube where the heating elements are located there is a sms thermal switch with two wires going to it. In the center of the thermal switch there is a reset button. Make sure that is set. Then check your fuse inside the coachcoach. If none of these steps do not restore power you will need to check the in line diode that runs from the 12v power supply to the thermal switch. It will be a red wire with a black sleeve over the diode. If the diode is bad you will indicate power to the diode but not after.
