Usualy oil burners burn #2 fuel oil which is the same as diesel, except for the dye. I knew a guy that burned the oil from a tank in hid diesel truck, worked fine except it was the bottom of the tank and dirty as hell. cost him a couple filters but we were out of barrels lol

You should use #2 oil from your local oil supplier. I'm not sure where you live so I couldn't tell you exactly who.

I replaced all filters and the nozzel pump presure is at 6psi i'm running desiel the ignighter glows for 5-6sec I'mgetting fual but ignighter goes out before flame

I want you to inspect the fuel tank, you are looking for water that may have entered while in storage. Condensation builds from storing them and it can duplicate what you are saying here. What I did was to empty the fuel in a clean five gallon bucket and observe, fuel is lighter than water so it floats to the top water sinks to the bottom. If water is present please try to dry out the tank the best you can by soaking it up with a rag. You can siphon off the fuel just be careful not to get the water. If no water is present check to see how the igniter is positioned in conjunction to the angled spray of atomized fuel. You may have to bend it in a little closer to the fuel.

70,000 btu reddy heater, starts right up but smells bad.Instaled new filters , fuel and igniter low hours 100 or so. disassembled tip everything looked perfect.nosecone turns orange from bottom up and...

I hope you are burning K1 kerosene as opposed to off road diesel. Diesel stinks no matter what you do to the heater. A couple things that have happened to me are, fuel selection K1 is it, when storing for the end of the season old fuel can cause water from condensation to build in the tank. When water is in the tank you get ignition and it burns just not hot enough to burn the fuel completely, this causes the heavy odor. Old fuel will do the same it is as if the fuel thickens to an oily state and becomes heavier. It just does not burn hot enough to get rid of the odor. You can try increasing pump pressure this changes air fuel mixture and you may get rid of the odor somewhat.

Water in fuel light keeps blinking on and off...do I need to change the fuel filter????? 1997 F-250 7.3 powerstroke

Diesel engines are more prone to this problem, chek the seals on the guel fill neck to make sure there not leaking water in to the tank, other then that try adding an additive such as MDR Desiel warter zorb, its like $18.00 and see if that mitigates the problem. Fuel filter is recomended to be changed I belive every 70,000 miles on the Desiels.

When I light my Coleman Catalytic Heater, it burns

The wick isnt drawing up any fuel? Does this heater have a primer?

Could the wick be sitting above the fuel inside the tank?

You might just try changing wicks and restarting.
