Preventive Maintenance Video for Stairmaster Stepper SC916

This video is covers preventive maintenance on your Stairmaster SC916 Stepper. Following a good preventive maintenance schedule will reduce equipment down times and repair costs.Due to the workout your equipment gets from use, they can become dirty over time.
Inspect the heart rate grips (if equipped) and make sure there is no accumulation of sweat on or around the contacts. A non-abrasive cleaner can be used on the contact heart rate grips daily.
Inspect all the shrouds and ensure they are securely fastened and no cracks have developed. Use of abrasive cleaners can create cracks in the shrouds or cause them to become brittle.
Inspect the cup holder shroud. Make sure there have been no holes drilled into the shroud for the purpose of allowing sweat to drain and preventing accumulation. The proper method of dealing with the sweat accumulation in the cup holder shroud is regular cleaning of the area.
Once you've made all the shroud inspections, step up onto the pedals. Feel the motion of the unit and verify smooth operation. Listen for irregular noises. A good maintenance routine allows you to recognize how a unit in good operating condition should feel and sound.
Next, inspect the step chains. The links of the chain should move freely. The chains should be lubricated on a 3 month basis with 30w motor oil.
Inspect the pedal hardware. Each step the user takes, there is movement of the pedal hardware. Ensure that all the snap rings are secure to their shafts and none are working free. If a snap ring is not secure, it's possible that damage to the pedal can occur or it could fall off during exercise and possible injury could occur.
These are the main points for preventive maintenance.

Can the 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer be lubricated?

I'm guessing by the year that you have pretty high mileage on your SUV. If that is the case then you will probably need to rebuild front end. that should take care of the problem. Good luck.

Having trouble with the drive train on my TORO walk behind MOD. 20018

This is from a service note in shop:

"SUBJECT: Self-propelled system locks up or does not work properly. If pushed the wheels will not roll. (may be accompanied by grinding or clicking)

SITUATION: Inadequate lubrication results in the key or drive pinion sticking.
CORRECTION: Remove the drive wheel, clip ring, thrust washer, pinion, key and spring. Clean any lubricant or rust from the parts. Lubricate generously with anti-seize and reassemble.
Note: More information regarding the service of this drive system is in the Walk Power Mower Drive Systems Service Manual, Form #492-4733.

Beginning in April of 2002 Toro began making changes in their production process to ensure proper lubrication. This was done in several steps, each has improved the situation. Please remind your customers that lubrication of the wheel pinion clutch is part of normal maintenance and is covered in the owner's manual. Three to four drops of engine oil on each side of the pinion is required every 25 hours, or at least once a year.

What lubricant can be used on the Horizon T92 Treadmill

Go to www.horizonfitness.com then click on e-store then look for part and accessories the silicon lubricant to purchase. Follow this procedure before applying lubricant.
1. Inspect belt and deck. The deck should be smooth. The belt should have a consistent feel from side to side (a belt can be worn out without any sensory signs of a problem). If you feel deep grooves in the deck or uneven wear on the underside of the belt, part replacement is necessary. Continued use of your treadmill may damage expensive electrical components.
2. To inspect the belt and deck visually or to clean underneath the belt before applying lubricant, the belt must have the tension reduced. Loosen the tension roller by following the instructions in your owner’s manual. Do not loosen the bolts in the tension roller too far or the bolts will come out of the roller shaft. This step may not be necessary for your treadmill model or belt and deck condition.
3. Contaminants are the worst enemy of your belt and deck. Some treadmills may have an excessive accumulation of dirt and contaminants. If these are trapped during the belt lube process, significant damage will occur. If contaminant removal is necessary, loosen the belt by following step 2, lay the treadmill on its’ side, and use a nylon brush to loosen contaminants that have accumulated on the inside of the belt. Clean the deck with mineral spirits in a well-ventilated area. Allow the deck to dry before lubing or tightening the belt.

Treadmill maintence

Here is a typical guide for maintenance their may be a slight variation from different manufacturers all in all the same.
NOTE: To prevent electrical shock, be certain the treadmill is turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet before performing any cleaning or routine maintenance. TREADBELT LUBRICATION For average use of your treadmill, factory recommends you lubricate under the treadbelt once per year. For heavy use, which is more than 10 hours per week, factory recommendation is lubricating every six months. . LUBRICATION PROCEDURE: 1. Turn off and unplug treadmill. 2. Cut off the end of the tube of lubricant. 3. Holding the tube in one hand, insert the tube underneath the treadbelt halfway between front and back and halfway between right and left. 4. Squeeze the full contents of the tube onto the deck in a circular pattern in the center 1/3 of the deck. 5. Plug in and turn on treadmill, then walk normally on treadmill at 0.5 mph for five minutes. CLEANING DAILY: Perspiration should be wiped from the control console and treadmill surfaces after your workout. CLEANING WEEKLY: You should wipe down your treadmill once a week with a water dampened, soft cloth. Be careful not to get excessive moisture between the edge of the digital display panel and the console, as this might create an electrical hazard or cause the electronics to fail. IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLEAN OR WIPE THE TOP OF THE DECK UNDER THE CENTER OF THE RUNNING BELT. MONTHLY: Clean dust and dirt that might accumulate under and behind your treadmill once a month. Small rubber particles from the soles of walking shoes will accumulate alongside the belt and also behind the unit

How & where do I lubricate my Saeco Magic Deluxe?

Never.
The machine does not need lubrication, not even on the coffee grinder. If gears lubrication is needed, that is exceptional, and must be performed by the technician. Normally the machine must not be lubricated.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning and descaling, follow instructions from page 34 on the user manual downloadable here.
Regards.

Every motorized treadmill must need some regular type of servicing. What is the procedure? What do I need to do to keep my treadmill in good working order?

The main thing to do is keep the walk belt area clean of all shoe rubber and lint, vacuum the tread melt and edges regularly. Most treadmills have a wax lubricant in the walk belt, youcan purchase this lubricant at store that sell treadmills or you can do an on line search for treadmill lubricant. If you lift the belt and feel under the platform you should feel a slight waxy film, if not you should add wax as needed, some wax kits come with instructions, but if you just apply it to the platform area underneath the walk belt where you feet normally land when to step forward that should be fine, walk on the treadmill for a few minutes to spread the wax evenly on the underside of the belt, other than that there is no other maintenance needed.

Try using a thicker lubricant...The stickiest is chain & bar oil for chainsaws. Not good for internal stuff like engines or gearsets but really good on external parts.(locks, hinges etc) I keep a hypodeemic nerdle full of it in my tool box!!! (use it on firearms and fishing reels too!!!)
