SOURCE: Control Panel turns off

I have a GE DCV515EF0WW front-load dryer. When the dryer is on there is a scratching noise that seems to come from the front edge of the drum. The unit just started doing this. I checked around the drum for debris. I found some lint and cleaned it as best asI could. Any suggestions. The unit is heating properly or so it seems. Thanks in advance.

How to remove sliding door inside panel of Mazda MPV

1. Work with slider in open position. It helps if you are on a slight incline so that door stays in fully-open position and won't slam shut on your fingers.
2. Remove inner handles and door panel:
a) Inner handle. Remove the inner handle first. You can't see it too easily but a wire clip about the same thickness as a large paper clip holds the handle to its shaft. It's shaped like an upside down "U" so it needs to be pushed straight up. Press the panel outward around the handle and you can just see the clip. Use a small thin screwdriver to locate the bottom tips of the clip and push it up. You may have to alternate from side to side but it will pop off. Grab it with a pair of needlenose pliers if you have to. The door handle willl now slide off - just pull it towards you.
b) Power window switch. Remove power window button by squeezing hidden tabs along the sides of the button. Again, you may have to push the panel outward a little and pry the switch to see the tabs. Wiggle it a little and the button will release. Pull it out and unplug the wiring harness.
c) Door panel. There are several plastic buttons which hold the panel on at the bottom and up the sides. Use a plastic putty knife to get behind panel and pop it out of the holes.
3. Once all trim fasteners are released, grab the door panel at the bottom and pull straight up to release it at the top. You may have to give it a quick upward tug to get it to release. Push the power window button wires through the mounting hole. Look at the panel buttons to make sure that all of them came off with the panel. If not, remove the remaining ones from the door and put them in their respective slots on the door panel. (Trying to re-attach the panel without the buttons installed on the panel will be frustrating.)
4. Outer handle removal.
a) Unclip the handle lock button / bar by turning the small tab and pulling the bar out of its slot. Hard to describe here but you'll figure it out once you see it.
b) Remove three bolts which hold the handle on the door. Note that one bolt is accessible from the outside of the door along the front jamb.
Replace handle and reverse the steps above.

Notes: Check the locking mechanism and make sure the door opens and closes before you reassemble the panel. Remember to orient the inner handle the right way before you re-attach its spring clip. (I've attached it upside down and it won't work!!!) . Also, be sure to feed the power window wiring harness back through the mounting hole before putting the panel back on.

We pulled our stacked washer out from the wall to service the cold water hose filter on the back of the unit. when we pushed it back into it's location the washer won't start, won't fill...

I know you don't want to hear this, but either you did something to the hose filter or you didn't get it plugged back in correctly.

If you banged the water inlet valve in moving it back, it might be damaged.

Suggest you unplug everything and start over.

I can't remove the old filter to replace it. You're supposed to push the button in and it would pop out, but it won't go in. 56166501 is model.

If its been some time since you last changed the filter then you may need to pull the filter holder while holding the eject button. Don't twist the cap on the holder, just pull.

If you can't get a grip on it and the eject button still doesn't work then remove the base grille by openeing both doors and pushing the top and pulling the bottom to give you better access to the eject button and filter holder.

I have several Intermatic Model DT7.It very hard to set hours and minute. I press the buttons and nothing hapens and the just start to go up through the numbers and I can't stop it.

I'm not sure what timer you have.
Programmable timers are made so you press-and-hold the button, and then display goes up through the numbers as you describe.
I test timers, and have not seen the fault you describe. 4-6% of timers arrive defective.
However you have several timers that do the same thing.
If you press the button once, then the first number shows, press button again and next number shows.

If your timer is going up through the number with one push of the button then try resetting timer.
I cannot identify your timer to know what the reset steps are.

Also, many timers you push the + button to go up through the numbers, and push the - button to go down through the numbers > try both buttons since one may be made for individual selection and other for acceleration through all numbers.
If timer operates on 120V, perform circuit analyzer test on the circuit to eliminate electrical as source of problem.
If this is a hard-wire timer, carefully review of wiring.

If you find the specific source of problem, add a comment.

Wont run

if you have power it may be the door switch, or the motor reset button may have tripped either way the front panel will have to come off. unscrew the screws inside the dryer door, pop up the top lid with a crew driver in the top corners, disconnect the door switch and the panel is off look at the motor and see if it has to buttons on resets the other trips, if it does then push the reset it will click. to bypass the door switch tape the connectors together. Hope this helped tim

The dryer wont start when i press the start button

maybe the dry door switch or the reset button on the motor. if you here like a click noise when you push the start button then its the reset. if not then more then likely it is the switch, which means either way the front panel has to come off, screws are located inside dryer door, the top corners are clipped from the inside so a flat tip screw driver will pop the corners, then disconnect switch, if it is the switch remove switch and tape wire together, put front panel on with top clips, plug in and push start drum should turn. get new switch.the reset buttons are on the motor and when you push the reset it will click. Hope this helped Tim

The 'up' temperature button doesn't work on my MGR4452BDB.

I was able to fix my problem. Hopefully you have the same problem I had as it was only a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as difficulty to fix.

Short answer: Just pull out your oven and access the back side of the control panel and you should see the issue immediately. Should be free to fix.

Long Answer:

Get access to the back of your oven. Unscrew the two cover panels on back top of the oven. These panels give you access to the oven's control circuit board. Once the panels are removed you will see the circuit board which controls the oven. It is screwed down in a few places but the edges are merly 'snapped in' to a plastic mount. Over time pressing the 'up' button apparently was is much for the poor little plastic mount and the corner of the circuit board nearest the up button pops out. Push the card back into the mount and then reinforce the mount so the corner will not pop out again. I used a small round wood dowl that I just happened to find in the garage as a way to apply constant pressure against the mount. I put the dowl between the mount and the inside top of the oven. Not a very pretty fix but it works. Hopefully it doesn't get really hot back there. I pushed on the up button with the power on and confirmed everything was still working and then put everything back. Hope this helps. It was easy to fix.

Leaking inside washer, how and which panel do I take off

You will need yo remove front panel. Should be 2 screws near bottom on front. Take these out. Use putty knife or thin screwdriver to pop clips to pop the top up. the 2 clips are in the slot between the top and the front panel. Once top is up you will push down on the front panel. There are 2 tabs and slots on each side that connect the front panel to main cabinet. As you push the front panel down you should be able to pull the panel toward you and out. The tabs and slots are easy to bend and sometimes hard to get back in. Hope this helps!

Roper dryer wont work

Disconnect power from unit. The motors centrifugal switch is stuck in the on position. The switch mounts on the motor and when the start button is pushed during normal operation it powers up the motor just long enough to set it in motion. Spring loaded counterweights fly out and apply power to the run windings of the motor. The heater element is also energized as well. If it was me I would tear down the dryer and clean it up. OIl the switch, get it unstuck and retry. To get inside the dryer:you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Take the idler loose and get the drum out. Get a vacuum and clean the moter and inside real good. Oil the switch and get it free. This is not very difficult.
