It works, but you will not be protected from static shock, your equipment will not be protected from power surges with high spikes, and most digital equipment , such as digital amplifiers, will have a weird background static noise, 1X Extension Cord Replacement Electrical AC Wall POWER PLUG End Male...

If the third prong is the round one, then that is the ground to your amp. It will still work, however, the amplifier will not be properly grounded. So in a pinch you can use it, but you need to get the cable replaced. The ground wire is there for your safety, in case you plug your amp into a mis-wired outlet or if you are plugging in another instrument like a keyboard, mixer etc. that may be mis-wired. This could lead to a bad shock or worse. You have been warned.

The volume knob on my esteban g10 broke off

There is no other fix than to replace the volume pot. if you are not familar with working on electronics, it will require a trip to the repair shop. Unfortunately, the repair charges will most likely be more than the cost of just replaceing the amp.

Crate flexwave 120 head effects malfunctioning

That is probably a momentary switch that is dirty and sticking. These onboard effects on guitar amps are usually nothing more than a computer sound card and I've found bad connections going to and from them as well. I do think that switch is dirty and sticking, though.

Speaker humms only. what causes that?

Incorrect connections or volume settings.

• In powering up, mixer first then amp

• In turning off , amp first then mixer

If hum still persist, without the mixer connected

then speaker amp may need servicing.

Amazing guitar!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the specialized plug you need. Being 1 out of less than 400, it is doubtful that they are still being made. However; any decent music shop will be able to repair your old plug.

I have bought a second hand guitar amplifier, and would like to know, how to do a safety check on it, using a voltmeter or whatever, hank

First and foremost make absolutely sure you know what you are doing. If the amp is in good working order you should be O.K. The biggest safety check you can do is make sure that no one has removed the ground prong from the power cord. If it doesn't have one then you should take the amp to your nearest qualified amp repairman who can do a certified repair on your amp. For instance if it is a Marshall product, take it to a Marshall dealer. This type of repairman not only has the training, tools and schematics to work on your amp he will also be able to tell if someone has done a safe mod to your amp. Not only that he can be held contractually responsible if you are injured through the correct use of the amp after he has done the repair. Read your service agreement carefully before allowing the work. Amplifiers can kill you.

You can buy new connector and replace broken one. You need skill at soldering and of course have to open the unit to access the broken connector.

if it does go to your local electrical store and buy a new knob.
then all you have to do is screwthe knob back on to the amp.

Cable broke off in the input jack

I'm pretty sure t6hat the output jack is a sealed unit(contacts inside soldered to the surface of the circuit board. You may be able to grasp the center shaft of the plug with a thin jawed hemostat or really skinny long nosed pliers and pull it out that way. Make sure the amp is off and unplugged from the wall. If that doesn't work you will either have to get it removed at a shop or disassemble the amp to remove the circuit board and unsolder the jack and replace it or get the broken plug out of the jack once it is unsoldered. I've never had a Line6 apart yet but thats probably the type of jack they used. Thats because it has to be electronically isolated from the chassis. Hope this helps.

Fender M-80 electric Guitar Amp.

You might have a ground problem. Does it do it in different outlets or when you take it to someone else's house? One easy solution to ground problems can be running a three prong to two prong adapter on the power cable. Give that a try and see if it helps.
