Error message on Whirlpool Range Oven Model GFE461LVS Feature Not Available

The Feature not available message indicates that the range's internal computer (electronic control) has found a problem with the range. You need to access the diagnostic program to determine the fault and try to reset it. Press Cancel, Cancel (a second time) and then Start. You should see Test On. Then press Temp > Time > + . Press + again to move through the various test and information sections. Eventually you should get a list of Faults (F followed by a number or F number E number). Record these. After you press + again, the diagnostic program should enter an "Auto Test". Press Cancel to exit the test. Then press Start Time to clear the fault codes. Then try to use your oven.

Some faults mean that the oven can't be used until you fix the problem. These can be problems with the ERC (electronic range control), high temperature limit sensor, or wiring harness. Some of the parts for your range are available here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/search.aspx?model=gfe461lvs . Without the error code, I can't pin down your issue. So please add a comment with that information after you try the diagnostic.

If your range is under warranty, contact Whirlpool for a service call.

I hope this helps.

I have a electric whirlpool self cleaning oven, after the cleaning process the door is still locked. It's beeping and error message E1 F5

Assuming the door is still locked after cooling, then either the door switch is bad or the wiring from the control panel to the door switch has a problem. First disconnect the power from the oven. Then check the wiring and connectors (from the control to the switch and back). If those are fine, you need to replace the door switch. After replacing the switch or fixing any bad wiring/connections, reconnect the oven to power. Press and hold any key on the panel for at least one minute to clear the error. You should see F2 on the LCD panel. Press Cancel to clear the error then check to see if any new error (or the old one) message occurs. (Usually a new error message will come up within a minute.)

Which model Whirlpool oven do you have? If you add a comment with the model number, I may be able to provide a parts list and diagram of the unit.

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool Gold GFE461LVS electric range, oven gets very, very hot. Only two years old.

Most likely a defective temperature sensor.
Disconnect the temp sensor and use a volt meter to check the ohm resistance. It should be 1100 plus or minus 50 ohms. If more or less replace the sensor.
If the sensor is OK,replace the electronic control.

My RBD275PDB14 Whirlpool double electric oven started displaying an E6 F2 error message and intermitently shutting down after a power outage. I replaced the control panel but it is still displaying the...

F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).
