Its because of interoperability problems between your ISP and yahoo messengger 9.0 not getting along. Try switching to yahoo messenger version 8.0 or 7.0 for the win.

if you are admin user sign on to your account go to control panel/ user account/ create a new account for your son........(do not delete his old account you may delete access to documents)
if you are not admin user or there is no admin user... unplug PC, take cover off... take battery (it looks like a nickel, a little bit thicker) for 5 mins... then replace,,, put cover back on plug in to AC...... turn on system once in go straight to user account and delete the password else you will be lock out again once you shut down.

error 81003004 is a connection problem, Connection Problems; 1. Open your Internet Explorer 2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab 3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open 4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.check connect directly to internet then click ok 5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes. 6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.
go to control pane/ user accounts/ user accounts/ look at your acct (make sure its says admin and not limited) if limited change it to admin. reinstall software, you should be on way now.
The problem I have with not being able to sign into yahoo messenger is that I get an error message with number that are 81003004. It says try again...new user and sign in problems. This has been going on for many months now and I have removed yahoo from add and remove and downloaded yahoo messenger many many times. I really like yahoo and essepically my radio station I created and miss some of my friends I cannot contact any more. Please help me resolve this problem. I can sign into my home page with correct password with no problem but not yahoo messenger. Like I said the error message I get is 81003004 that is showing up on my yahoo messenger IM log in. You can only create a new user login with administrator rights.
There is a Linux password recover program around which can reset or remove passwords on user accounts. You need to Google to find it.
The only other alternative is to re-install Windows.
