Well you might want to check that the ring gear on the flywheel and the teeth of the starter motor are meshing properly. My Craftsman which is a good machine I had to replace the plastic flywheel with the new aluminum one as the teeth seized together and would not turn. It seems unlikely with two hours that you have this problem though.
I would suspect that the battery has a dead short that is drawing a massive amount of power when you go to boost it just gets worse. Did you try to spin the motor with your hand, does it turn. Try taking out the plugs and see if it turns over easy or at all. It should spin easy with the plugs out. If not you have a starter problem or battery problem or a seized motor which I rather doubt with two hours on it.
